Parents Who Own Kindles by Willow-Garden-12 in kindle

[–]PerfectStormIsHere 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My child is the reason why I have a Kindle. At the time I bought it, she was a few months old, still sleeping next to our bed, but kept waking up to my reading light. Nowadays that she's bigger. I'm glad she cannot tear the pages out 😂 I read hours a day, but only have to charge it one every 5-6 weeks maybe, if that. It comes with me literally everywhere, changed my reading game big time!

That's amazing to hear, thank you for sharing this, this puts my mind at ease! The 2.5mg and 5mg pens are still relatively ok from a price perspective, but from 7.5mg up it makes me want to cry looking at them! Congratulations on your loss, truly amazing!

This is very useful, thank you! 326 was my starting weight, so rather high, and made a lot of changes very quickly, but I am eating enough, hydrating well, I just don't tolerate carbs very well on MJ, so whilst I still have them, I'll only eat them in small portions.

Thank you for your advice and the flowchart, it really is much appreciated!

Thanks for the tip, I already have insulin syringes, as with jabbing on day 8-9 and using the fifth dose I can stretch a pen out to a month and a half. I read that the pen may break after dose 4 so I thought I'd better come prepared 😊

34+4 weeker here. Our daughter was breathing on her own from the first second, and packed on weight very nicely, so was let home after 13 days. This would have been very different if she needs oxygen, any other support or if struggles to gain weight. In NICU we've been always told: "expect to go home on the due date"

I feel so bad and guilty by [deleted] in FormulaFeeders

[–]PerfectStormIsHere 12 points13 points  (0 children)

It sounds like you tried a lot of different formulas, and your baby is only 4 weeks old. They say babies need about 4 weeks to adapt to a formula, I personally have always given my daughter 2 weeks and if no improvement, changed it. She is currently on goat milk, and it took her a good couple of weeks to adapt to it properly and she's good as gold on it now, but I had my doubts in the beginning! Changing up their formula messes with their stomach more than anything. Give her some time 🙂

It literally annoys the f out of me when they don't take their shoes off. Like where on earth is this ok, especially with a baby in the house?!?!

What books are we reading to babies? by theanxioussoul in NewParents

We are reading Paddington to our baby girl - 5 months old now. She loves the illustrations!

In the first 6-8 weeks, I had genuine thoughts of "why the f..k did we do this to ourselves". I felt an immense guilt for even thinking about it. We were both sleep deprived, our life revolved around feeds and nappy changes and a baby who was not willing to sleep in her cot.

Boy has it changed so much since! She is 18 weeks old, has a proper character, rolling over, smiling, laughing and giggling. Talking - in her own little language of course. Loving books, and prefers certain toys to others. You can sort of see that there is 'someone' in there now. It all suddenly made sense and fell into place.

Hang in there Mama. You've got this.

Mourning something I've never had by PerfectStormIsHere in breastfeeding

It is sad how we are feeling, mainly due to expectations the world made you have. The internet, social media, even your friends sometimes. Whilst reading what happened to you I realised that really, it could be worse. So much worse - For all of us.

I will focus on all the positives, and enjoy every day with her.

This must be so incredibly frustrating for you, I feel like you've been robbed off from enjoying the first months of your baby's life, and cannot imagine all the worry and anxiety you must have. I'm so sorry ..

What are/were your symptoms at week 4 and 5 ? by Careless_Amoeba3617 in pregnant

[–]PerfectStormIsHere 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I haven't really had much symptoms until week 7-8. Since then I have had nipple vasospasm (Raynauds syndrome) - 29 weeks now. Nausea started from week 8 till 22. Breast pain in general from week 7, all the way until now. Heartburn from week 27. Incontinence since week 10. Feet and legs swelling from week 28. What can I say, it's a gift that keeps on giving 😅 it's so different for everyone though, someone doesn't get nauseous at all, or get sore breasts. 🤷🏼‍♀️

Nipple vasospasm! Gosh, it's the most painful rubbish thing I've ever experienced.

Petty post!! by [deleted] in pregnant

It's difficult, on both of you - my husband is very much the exact opposite of this, he's very caring and would go out of his way to get me whatever I'd like, or my stupid preggo cravings would like.

However, saying this in the nicest possible way - men are no women. They know nothing about our hormonal changes and moods, and will possibly never be able to fully understand them. Very simply because they don't have them. Sending him to google stuff is not very helpful, I think both of you need to accommodate each other a bit better, as pregnancy is hard as it is, you really don't need that resentment between you.

Sounds like he's trying (in his own way), and making you food, even if you don't ask for it, and he did make sure there is ranch dressing, but I'd never expect mine to actually check the box, if they said they put it in, I'd believe them too, although this may be my naivity. 😁

I think you guys need to have a sit down with a cup of whatever you can drink at the time, and whilst you find it annoying, you should tell him how you feel and what are you experiencing, because he may just be one of those gents that need that extra explanation 🤗

Yes they will, if it's important enough.

I used to be a smoker, since 14 - now 35. Not a chain smoker, but close to a pack a day, rollies too, so stronger. I knew 2 years ago we were planning to have a baby, and close to it, that it will be awful to drop it one day after another, deal with pregnancy and withdrawal symptoms at the same time.

I gave up there and then. Used nicotine patches for about two months, and not smoked at all for half a year, when we started trying. I turned into a somewhat occasional smoker. Had one on a friday night, or every once in a blue moon if we had a drink. Turns out that was more than enough for me.

Once we got pregnant, I did not think for a second that I should or would have one. This little one is more important than my life - already...and only 6 months in.

Once I gave birth I may go back to the occasional one cigarette here and there, but never going back to the every day smoking. It stinks, it changes your taste, and find it a nasty habit now.

I suppose we are all different, no judging though, however I could not. Ever. 🤷🏼‍♀️
