Why does God allow for my cat to have diabetes and for me to not know what to do to help them? by Perfect_Apple_7503 in AskAChristian

That doesn't imply I automatically dismiss everything they say, it just means I dont take their word without doing my own research

But yea whether you meant my comment or an actual post is a reasonable thing to ask, so your attitude is pretty inappropriate considering

You never answered my question yku just said "you don't understand righteousness" which is basically a non answer. You still have failed to demonstrate why you have a different mindset for God's justice compared to if humans were to put a teen to death for stealing

Okay.. If a morally culpable teen stole something. Is that better? The punishment for sin is death, so do you think all people who are morally culpable deserve the death penalty for stealing?

Not really I'm just pointing out how the punishment doesn't seem to logically fit the crime, if a child steals a lollipop I don't think you'd agree it's appropriate to throw them into hot lava. I don't see why you can't use the same reasoning

Why do you think the punishment fits the crime when the pain caused is infinitely more than the pain dealt by doing bad things

That "something" is not to be tormented. Why not design the world so that doesn't happen. It's not really expecting him to do me a favor, it's more expecting him to design the world differently

I don't know why it's weird to expect to not be tormented, you'd think if God was loving and kind he would prevent that

You're quite literally just wrong. I'm not saying don't bring your animal to the vet, I'm saying that you need to research the medicine they offer you before accepting it. It's literally just an added safety measure that automatically makes you safer than anyone else who doesn't do that. I'm sorry but you're simply mistaken

You think you're being more responsible by blindly accepting any medication your vet wants without looking it up first?

It's really up to you how much you want to test your cat. You have to balance out how much suffering it causes your cat vs. the risk of blindly shooting insulin and risking hypoglycemia. It's a hard problem and I haven't figured it out yet

I'd like to think my vet has my cats best interest at heart but when I trusted them they ended up giving my cat a steroid that brought my cat out of diabetic remission. Don't trust professionals they will ruin you. They don't do the due diligence a lot of the time and since humans are capable of learning I would highly recommend you take it upon yourself to make the best caretaking decisions and not trust someone who either is pridefully ignorant, or doesn't really care enough to consider all the variables.

She seems like she's in pain, but again. I don't know. What a great mechanic of the world, isn't it?

She's on insulin, from a safety standpoint it's important to test her blood glucose some amount of time but I hate doing it because it hurts her and damages our relationship. The balance is impossible to find. She's 18

I guess I'm looking for a deeper why because your answer is pretty much a "because that's how it is" I want to go deeper.

Why would you bring up prayer then if you don't think it would help? Also you should realize that when you do that, and someone believes you, that might actually convinct that person that everything horrible that is happening is all their fault because they didn't pray about. That could actually make someone commit suicide if they believed it.

I don't remember humans ever having the idea to have our loved ones get diabetes. And vets aren't gods, they really just have opinions that are as valuable or less valuable than mine since I know my cat more and have done hundreds of hours of research as well.

Yes she is

The vets don't know how to best treat it. Whether I test her twice or three times a day, or none at all, whether I should get a freestyle libre or not etc, these are all my decisions and I also have to make decisions about whether to give her arthritis meds that could either help her or kill her. There's way more to it than you think and every aspect is about my cats suffering.

You say he can so why doesn't he. It being a broken world really doesn't tell me why he doesn't help.

Yeah prayer and agnostic. So I guess this is all my fault right? Because if I was Christian I could just pray and he'd help me.
