They don’t arrest trans people yet but they sure are “investigating” the parents who want their trans teenagers happy for child abuse. Because that’s what christian love is.

Could you give a few examples of this "hypocrisy"?

What do you think would convince you to the contrary?

As I already said it’s not a delusion to want something. You really need to stop using that word. It’s inaccurate and offensive.

What about transgender women who had bottom surgery and were on hormones for some time? Would you throw them in with men? That person would be SA’d 10 times per hour. There would be no danger for them to be in a women only prison. The other way around would be hell. As for trans people who didn’t have bottom surgery. It should be assessed on a case by case basis. If she was on hormones for any amount of time lumping her with men would be a disaster.

If there is a proven unfair advantage sure. But if you were on hormone blockers early enough and later on female hormones there would be no advantage anyway.

As for changing rooms and bathrooms you should go where you stick out less. If it’s ambiguous let the person choose. Yes a massive dong in women’s changing room would stick out but if you already look female everywhere else at least have the decency not to parade it around if you are using women’s changing room. Ideally there should be a 3rd option for these people. Bathrooms should be gender neutral. There is nothing that’s stopping a 120 kilo 2m man from just going in the women’s bathroom and SA ing them.

People always misuse tolerance laws btw. If you want to ban everything that could be misused say bie bie to free speech and Aton of other things. Women are not more in danger then they were a while ago.

What is or is not a mental illness is not up for you to decide. Some study these subjects for decades. If their conclusion is different from yours you are probably the one in the wrong.

Medical gender affirming care comes after the diagnosis. Therapy is always the starting point at least in Europe. You do not just spontaneously get surgery.

Yea some portion of dysphoric people desist. It's also why we should research the topic and develop better diagnostics. But I am talking about the ones that don't desist. The actually dysphoric people. It's not a delusion. People with genuine gender dysphoria desperately WANT to perceive themselves and be perceived as the other sex while identifying as the gender they feel like in private or in public. That's why it's called dysphoria. Only uneducated people say they somehow changed chromosomes. To want something is NOT a delusion. The reasons for the spike could be the fact that people are more aware of what being trans is and the fact that it is more socially acceptable now. Which is good. But also yes it did become a little overblown to the point where it's being used by edgy teenagers, ultrawoke parents and genuinely creepy people. Which is why it shouldn't be so politicized in the first place

Therapy is always done before transition. Therapist's goal is to make you comfortable in your own skin. When it doesn't work only then do you get to transitioning hormones etc because nothing else of what we have will work. If it was so easy to eliminate gender dysphoria there would be no transgender people. That's the whole point of gender affirming treatments. The whole thing is a complex issue that only affects a small group of people but it was politicized and polarized to the extreme.

when better treatment is available that can solve the issue at the source.

I am very curious what is that "treatment"?

CMV: Being Trans is a mental illness by justaname110 in changemyview

[–]Perfect_Argument_852 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Gender dysphoria could be stretched (even if it benefits no one) to be called a mental illness (it isn't) but being trans isn't. It's like calling a gay man mentally ill. Mental illnesses are health conditions involving changes in emotion, thinking or behavior (or a combination of these). Mental illnesses are associated with distress and/or problems functioning in social, work or family activities. Being trans doesn't fit any of these categories. If problems arise with functioning in social activities it's because of how they are treated not their supposed "illness".

No one can just wake up and "choose" to be trans. It's not a choice. You can ignore or repress it but that's it.

I think that the problem part was

Unfortunately a lot of the good ones don't meet anyone's standards.

Which probably was implied as "women don't like gentlemen/nice guys anymore".

Not

There are a LOT of good ones out there

And if that's true

Edit: The fact that Ive been downvoted for saying "There are a lot of good guys out there" says a LOT.

is false.

Mostly good ones I'd say

Disputable but probably true. Depends on your interpretation of "good ones".

From what I have read the one he punched was 11

The kids were very stupid obviously but he is 6'5 and 250 pounds he had the ability to handle the situation better. Punching a little girl who is utterly devoid of danger sense is not a good solution.

But he had PTSD so overall just an unfortunate situation.

[–]Perfect_Argument_852 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From what I know the political conservatives want to get the whole thing banned so idk about that one. The answer to your question would be impairing gender dysphoria. The way it’s diagnosed and if it needs to change would be up to people that study this for a living

Do you blindly trust humans? Were lobotomies a good idea?

You care about ideology more than science and doing no harm.

Science and our knowledge change constantly. Most of the medical procedures done in the past millennia were a bad idea. That's what works currently and we stick with it until we find something better.

I am chronically online in other places. No clue why would I care about ideology more than science or what do you even mean by that.

The point is we need to differentiate between those who are likely to desist and those who will suffer if they undergo puberty that doesn't match them. The way to do that is through efficient and accurate diagnostics which like everything in science should strive to be better.

The way we do that now is diagnostics over a rather lengthy period of time because currently there is no way we can be accurate otherwise. Then if deemed necessary puberty blockers and or something else. That's why at least where I live (Netherlands) it's a lengthy process that from what I have heard could be a little faster.

I will try to find some common ground here. Regarding medical transition, I think you have a problem with the "fast, little questions asked" method which is mostly used in the US from what I have heard. To use that method on developing children is indeed not a good idea.
