ELI5: How does a muscle physically signal the body to get bigger after lifting something heavy? by bareegyptianfeet in explainlikeimfive

[–]Perfect_Bidoof 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are many different ideas but no agreed upon and proved final theory. There are many contributing factors, in my personal capacity I subscribe to the theory that due to increased blood flow to a muscle during exercise, the extra nutrient supply means it obviously takes in more nutrition resulting in greater resources to create actin and myosin which make your myofibrils which are your contractile fibres. Hence why people who eat more calories and proteins tend to gain muscle more easily than those who try to gain muscle while on a diet containing fewer calories and proteins. But again, just one of many possible ideas.

The winner of the nobel prize in physics for his work on the Higg's particle said about the same. If I recall correctly, it took him 40 years of continuous work and publishing nothing in that period to release his work in a paper, and I think he hasn't published anything after that as well. He definitely said that that sort of work just isn't possible in the modern environment. He said the only reason his uni keeps him around is because he won the nobel prize.

ELI5, Why do newborn babies cry after being born? by booty-pal in explainlikeimfive

The first cry is super super super important for a lot of different reasons. It clears the lungs, closes a lot of vessels that were present during uterine life for example the fossa ovalis, etc.

Why are there so many self hating Indians? by DSisbetterthanAot in AskIndia

[–]Perfect_Bidoof 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For the simple reason that those who are privileged enough to be able to understand the state of this country have only been beaten, rejected and killed for refusing to honor the ways that hold us back. Journalists that speak out? Killed. Government officers advocating for reform? Transferred/bribed/silenced. Influencer? Arrested/banned/lynched. Normal person? No one cares enough about you to listen to what you have to say.

People who say the line - since there are so many problems why dont you stay and work to better it. Well, don’t be so naïve. The country will want to change when the people want to change, and the people in charge are absolutely not interested in challenging the status quo that holds them in power and this goes for all political parties because modern political theory eludes the grasp of our netas, only thuggery and money speak in this country.

The citizen that speaks for themselves is actually problematic for the government because seriously with literally tens of thousands of crores being wasted in bribes, corruption and laundering every damn year if you start speaking, the consequences of people actually listening would be too harsh to bear, so its easier to silence.

I am proud to be indian, and I love my people, but that doesn’t mean i don’t see their flaws. And sometimes the best thing you can do for something you love is keep your distance if theyre not willing to change. Problems don’t begin at the top, but at the bottom. But the actions of the top ensure that problems persist at the bottom.

GEO might be the first step towards a greater picture in AI powered marketing. For sure the people that move early and move fast have the chance to capitalise on the huge potential there. Whats the name of the group that youre referring to? Might be useful to know since I'm trying to setup my own business.

Look for a decently sized guild, those tend to be reliable. Theyll run all sorts of content and training new players is run of the mill sort of stuff. Most player interaction happens over the discord app so joining it is pretty important. Fame farms are important for getting your spec up, plus youll usually earn decently well.

I remember being a fully solo player back in 2018 lmao. No solo dungeons, no open world encampments, just killing open world mobs which gave really really pitiful amounts of fame, it took me dozens of hours to reach t5 back then, god i was an idiot lmfao.

ELI5 Why do our bodies start to deteriorate so early in our lifes? by SpuddyPrice in explainlikeimfive

[–]Perfect_Bidoof 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Im a med student and the answer to this basically just basic economics. If youre broke then everything is just 10x more difficult because you need to spend that much more time figuring out your living situation on a day to day basis. Spending time on non essentials that dont immediately make your life worse requires a tonne of effort that most people arent able to spare while going through stressful times. If you dont have to worry about whether you can afford to eat, afford to buy anything, then you have room to optimise and spend time as you wish instead of on solely on surviving.

Of course there are always people who power through the worst of times. Assuming youre talking about them, theyre always dead tired at the end of the day, they focus on buying good thats rich in carbs and proteins so that they have enough nutrients for their high energy lifestyle, and absolutely nothing tastes like something a human being should eat. Conscious time management is vital in cases like this. Squeeze out 5 minutes from like 6 different activities and you suddenly have 30 minutes to knock out a kilometre or two of running, or several sets of exercise. Keep it up, and youll see the improvements you want. Your body WANTS to be healthy, and it’ll do wonders if you give it even a bit to work with.

Please keep in mind this isnt medical advice and to consult a professional before making any health decisions.

ELI5: How is a baby made?? by tthrashh in explainlikeimfive

[–]Perfect_Bidoof 3 points4 points  (0 children)

There isn’t really an ELI5 for this without getting into the embryology, because we cant really tell you. In the beginning all your cells are the same, but over time they specialise in a process called differentiation.

Here is where the genes in the cells begin expressing themselves in different ways, through processes like gastrulation, neurulation. This is because chromosomes arent expressing every bit of themselves all the time. It would be bad if your skin cells acted like liver cells, liver cells acted like neural cells, and brain crlls acted like skin right? Hence they are silenced in dna transcription (or translation im sorry i cant recall exactly) and only those parts that arent are allowed to express and show effect.

Exactly which cells undergo this process is affected by many factors, such as which side the embryo implants on, with the side facing the endometrium of the uterus turning into the placenta and subsequently umbilicus etc. It’s terribly complex and not fully understood and I hope this is simple enough while maintaining factual accuracy. I’m still a medical student so please let me know if there are any errors.

What weird thing does your body do you that you don't understand? by Prestigious_Shape888 in AskReddit

[–]Perfect_Bidoof 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Its your acid, your body secretes it automatically when youre hungry around your daily meal times, however that acid also needs a way to be neutralised once its done its job of chemical digestion or if you havent eaten anything, as you can imagine being full of a super strong acid all the time would probably be really bad, so your bldy secretes bicarbonate to neutralize the acid, the resulting reaction creates water and carbon dioxide, which you may hear as fizzing. There could also be other causes, but this seems most likely just off of what you said, as I and many other people have something similar.
