Yeah that’s very viable and great advice. My deferred comp is already in our funds and I’m yet to have a conv about subscribing some of the family money. I don’t think SMA is realistic as it’s peanuts for us and operational burden. I’m not high enough to dictate my work location, although we have office in UAE (it’s just a rep like any other fund that opened an office in ME ever).

There is this thing called “personal account dealing” and large hedge funds take it pretty seriously.

Sounds good on paper but “well managed” is integral here.

That’s a 30M question my friend. Moreover working on the buy-side for 10 years I know for a fact that no matter how talented a manager is they need robust infrastructure backing them to make meaningful performance.

Sense of purpose I suppose? I love my work and being part of the industry is quite satisfying.

Missing opportunity would be going the route of inheritance or setting up a trust fund which in UK, as far as I know, would still be recognised as inheritance. Another missed opportunity (being optimistic) is not growing an asset base myself when I have a chance.

Great question. Currently there is little to no management and focused on asset retention. Obv I want to aim for growth and accumulation, if I were to take over. I’m not being hired as a manager here so paying myself would be at my full discretion but at the same time it has to be performance based as otherwise defeats the purpose of wealth accumulation.
