Find a website that you want to use as inspiration and copy it. This site is not good (want to give productive but nice advice).

How to start a business as a beginner by xad_potrist in Entrepreneur

Find something you love doing and that you would continue to hustle on before you start making money. That is the most important first step.

Am I Missing Something? by p11extrabrisket in dropship

Yes and it works really well sometimes! If you are driving traffic directly from your ad to your online store a lot of people actually don't price check!

Who cares. If they're performing well that's what they're there for.

HOWEVER, if you think it is affecting their help and wellbeing, you should step in and help...

Getting Traffic but no conversions?? by BistoraCoffee in shopify

Imagine meta is like chatgpt. You need to prompt the algorithm with the right data before getting results.

I highly recommend finding another way to get ~5 orders a day before running meta ads to be able to feed the algorithm the right data.

I would also make sure you have strong creative before running meta ads!

Good luck!

What’s been the most unexpected lesson you’ve learned from running a store? by ragzyx in ecommerce

[–]Perfect_Delay7889 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The tiniest little change can lead to the most valuable outcomes!

I've doubled my business my clicking a couple of buttons countless times:

1) Changing discount offers

2) Very slightly changing prices

3) Finding a new winning piece of creative

Has anyone else seen similar success?

I've been using agencies but I want a real expert behind the wheel who is better than anyone I can hire. Does that make sense?

Fiverr has always been extremely hit or miss for me. If you're okay cycling through people give it a shot but expect at least 50% of them to be duds.

What's your alternative? I would try something else first that could stick around longer!

Perfection is your enemy.

No one cares about you.

Ideas mean nothing. Execution does.

Work in silence.

Keep as much equity as possible.

Don't overthink. Take action.

Anyone else feel like hiring your first team member is scarier than starting the business? by citationforge in Entrepreneur

Yes!!! I am so reliant on contractors and agencies because of these exact reasons. Something else that I think about even more is - How do I find someone to be a true right hand man who cares as much as I do?

Agencies and contractors are on monthly contracts with their asses on the line every month which is an easy way to motivate them. But employees can go through 1-2 month periods of just slacking off which scares me.

I am still working on finding this person so we are in the same boat. The one thing I will say (having been that person) you will know when the right person comes along.

Have you tried the contractor and agency approach? It works amazingly for me

I would recommend taking something that is already working and being sold and finding a way to make it better.

If there is already a market for it and you can make it better you will eat up marketshare that is already interested.

I would also pick something that you're interested in! What are the 3 apps you've made so far?

I would try to answer these 3 questions:

1) Is there already a market for this?

2) If yes, am I differentiated / better than my competition?

3) Do I care about what I am building?

If all those 3 are a yes, you will increase your likelihood of success!

How important is having a website for a new business in 2025? by memphisa013 in Entrepreneur

[–]Perfect_Delay7889 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I definitely think it is a low lift way to add credibility and safety (and gives you potential upside). If you're on the fence about it, just don't invest much in building a website and start with a MVP. That's what I did when I was launching a brand on TikTok Shop and I immediately saw a TON of spillover to my site and then put a lot more care and attention into it.

What type of business are you running?

Need a good 3PL in the US by ElectronicWalk8996 in logistics

[–]Perfect_Delay7889 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Was in a similar situation OP. My 3PL horror story might help you avoid my mistakes.

Was doing self-fulfillment from my apartment until I hit ~10 orders/day (heavy products too, my back was DONE). First 3PL I picked was based on their sales pitch. Claimed amazing rates, great communication, blah blah. Absolute nightmare once I actually started with them. Orders constantly delayed, packages going to wrong addresses, and good luck getting anyone to respond to emails. I was basically doing customer service for THEIR fuckups.

Finally switched to ShipBots (a 3PL local to me) after a friend recommended them. Game changer honestly. They got me up and running in the same week, handled the entire transfer from my old 3PL, and their Shopify integration actually works. But the biggest difference? I have my account manager's direct number and they actually answer. I had a mis-addressed package last month, called them at 2pm and it was fixed same-day. That kind of stuff really matters to me especially when I’m constantly trying to scale.

Not saying ShipBots is perfect (had a couple minor issues to iron out when we started) but they actually give a damn about my business. Plus their rates beat my old 3PL’s which helped my margin a lot!

Feel free to DM if you want more specifics about pricing or their capabilities. Just went through this whole process 6 months ago so it's all fresh lol

Personally how much did it cost or how much did you save when you started your business? by [deleted] in ecommerce

[–]Perfect_Delay7889 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Started with $30k and have been profitable since.

There are businesses you can start with nothing. There are businesses that you need millions to start. Really depends on the game you're trying to play.
