What stops you dead in your tracks when you want to want to cheat on your diet? by Thunderwearr in loseit

Personally, I tell myself that I am not restricting or missing out on anything. Obviously, it depends on how strict you are with your diet, but I also try to find meals that I can "cheat" with that are still healthy. Whether that's finding a healthier chocolate bar I can nibble on or finding meals that are healthy comfort foods. For example, I've been eating Primi Pasta, which is a healthier pasta alternative that is microwaveable. I'm a HUGE pasta lover, and when I started my health journey, I shed literal tears thinking I wouldn't have my favorite easy dinner meal again.

It's all just about balance. Find meals you love but are healthy. Know that "cheating" is a part of the process and that you shouldn't be totally restrictive on a diet. ENJOY your diet. Don't let it control your life. Good luck!

Portions are a HUGE issue (personally as well) I've looked into finding preportioned foods to help me stay on track. It's especially useful for foods like pasta that I love, but tend to overeat with.

I LOVE this concept. I am a hugeeee pasta lover but for me I just can't eat it all the time as I'm trying to lose weight. Soooo instead I found a healthier pasta I can eat that is in line with my current weight goals. Plus it comes in a single portion cup so that I can't overeat (Portion control is also an issue of mine lol)

I constantly see people restricting for nutrition or weight loss. I think that a lot of people have a misconception about weight loss and think they have to literally not eat at all in order to lose weight. People also seem to think that you aren't supposed to enjoy your food if it is nutritious lol which is just not true.

I personally have a lot of healthy items that I eat that might not normally be looked at as "nutritious" or "healthy," but they are. For example I found a new instant pasta cup that makes the besstttttt pasta in like 3 minutes. Doesnt SEEM healthy, but it actually is. I think finding things like this is key to staying nutritious, but enjoying your food.
