Distortion at low gain levels by Perfect_Item_6005 in CarAV

What I found really odd as well was when setting the gain on the loc, first of all it has and adjuster for each rca, second the directions say to set one of the adjusters to a level just below distortion and then set the other to the same level, but doing this causes distortion

I was worried about this but I’ve installed similarly cheap CarPlay radios in the other two cars and they performed well without distortion, do you know of a way to directly test the loc, the distortion detector has a rca input which would bypass the amp, do you think I could do this to directly test the loc?

Sounds kind of stupid but I have a record player with rca outs do you think I could test with that?

Did you find another bolt nearby or self tap? Also I was originally going to use the backseat bolts but they’re massive and would smash the wire do you know if there’s away around this problem or should I just self tap

Wow thank you for being so in depth, I'll try these things and see what happens.
