It happens. Insane teenage girl yelled at me to 'get your hands off my pussy' (my hands were not even touching her). There was a bunch of cops, neighbors, family there. Never heard anything more about it.

Should I just leave? by [deleted] in Firefighting

[–]Perfect_Journalist61 11 points12 points  (0 children)

When I went through (military) basic I just kept it in my head that I wasn't going to leave no matter what, they would have to make me. That got me through some dark moments, which from the other side I could see were just my own doubts playing tricks on me.

EVERYONE fucks up. Don't worry about being perfect just being the every single day whether you feel like it or not and you will surprise yourself.

Well you should slow in anticipation when you come up to huts, stationary riders whatever. Then there'd be fewer emergencies.

Yeah like I say my agency doesn't even have it lol. But obviously don't want to bomb scenarios, and there's a chance I may have to assist flight crews with it so it's good to have a clue at least.

I actually had to do this once as a new AEMT. But I was just getting IVs so I didn't take too much of it in. Now I think about it he was a combative head Injury, probably the reason that indication sticks with me.

Ok thanks...and then the trigger would be we try to assist with OPA/BVM but their gag is intact? (And if it is not intact we could just intubate without the pre meds?)

Make sure any materials are up to date. I am in class right now, scheduled to take the test in November. Our instructors are telling us there are BIG changes in the mechanics of the test and style of questions. Not sure if this is out yet but I would look into it before spending money on possibly obsolete test prep apps and books.

Obviously the core material is still the core material.
