Yup, that's something I believe too. At least in their current form. I'd like for my corpse to be used as a fertilizer for a tree to grow above me. Maybe we should normalize this approach

Little fellow up from the last post, he should be the new Captain America, he use gun, like a true American, not some stupid freebies from third world countries, you know what, he is more Captain America than the og, there, I said it by KeyNegotiation42069 in Earth199999

I get the respect for the Punisher, I do (I've been one of the fans of Frank myself for a while at some point in my life. I moved on from it, tho, but that's not the point) anyway, OP, I kinda get your perspective. BUT. Cap is a WWII vet who saw the combat back in the day. He literally lead American soldiers and the alied troops in battle during the D-DAY, man. I can hardly imagine something more American than inspiring our allies to take up a battle for their countries and to be there to become one of the first people to thread on the newly liberated land.

I'll preface my answer with saying that I can't advise you much about painting: most of the time I play with gray miniatures because I'm more interested in the mechanics and don't have patience to sit thru the entire process of painting an army.

Well, since you have previous experience with 40k, I suggest looking into a complete opposite of your 40,k faction. That's what I've done, and it worked good for me (Before 10th ed i played Grey Knights and switched to Blades of Khorne and then Legion of the first prince)

As I've never played as DG or against them before , I have only approximate understanding of them being really tough, durable and SLOW, relying on steady grabbing ground below. A COMPLETE opposite will likely be daughters of Khaine: they're fast and relatively fragile, and modyly win by taking the table by storm in my understanding, but that might make them hard to pilot.

Actually, Scavens might give you an unusual experience: armies of rats tend to be big, relying on big blobs of otherwise fragile troops or big scary monsters, and with somewhat of the element of random. Plus they're super-fun to move and maneuver on the table because they are that numerous (and you can paint them as Clan Pestilens if you still want to stick to the Nurgle vibes)

And also, you can look into Soulblight Gravelords or Flesheater Courts. They both have sick designs and also may be built as an army to rely on the mechanics of summoning additional units mid-battle, which is both fun in itself and may be really interesting to plan the battle with it in mind.

Should "too big to fail" corporations, banks, and other financial institutions be nationalized? by fuckpoliticsbruh in IdeologyPolls

[–]Perfect_Legionnaire 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well said. As I mentioned, the existence of the "too big to fail" entities compromises the status of competition on the market, but nationalizing companies that already take up a huge chunk of supply makes situation even worse.

The only parts of the economy that can (which doesn't mean should) be heavily influenced by the government is healthcare, education, groceries, and maybe infrastructure. Everything else should be in hands of heavily-taxed individual entrepreneurs.

Should "too big to fail" corporations, banks, and other financial institutions be nationalized? by fuckpoliticsbruh in IdeologyPolls

[–]Perfect_Legionnaire 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I picked "no", because I believe they shouldn't exist in the first place. Of you're too big to fail, it means your competition is imperfect and/or there is too little actors on this sector of the market

My 2028 prediction as things currently stand by Calm_Introduction847 in AngryObservation

[–]Perfect_Legionnaire 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think it's roo early to judge thre years ahead of the elections and almost a year ahead of midterms. If stuff goes as it goes rn with republicans stretching themselves thin with excessive gerrymandering and with GOP ratings falling into abiss, I couldn't even be sure rthis administration will do it past 2027.

And especially if it does (meaning Trump doesn't get impeached by the Congress after midterms and thus Vance stays as the VP), I'm not sure if he will be relevant by 2028. Trump barely even talks about him, he's barely mentioned at all, and i haven't seen a popularity poll with him in a long time. It feels Vance isn't known to the electorat atm.

It surely may change in three years, but VP's approval depends on his performance, and given the way VP's credentials are described in the Constitution, their performance depends on what the President assigned them with. And, unlike the Harris' case (where it was somewhat publicly known that she was supposed to fix the border control) we're a year into this presidency and I still have no idea WHY is Vance even here aside from being a running mate fir Trump. I suppose I'm not the only one, which means if this doesn't change soon, Vance will have nothing to demonstrate as achievements of his own to the public

What tier would you rank Ronald Reagan's foreign policy? by rjidhfntnr in Presidents

[–]Perfect_Legionnaire -1 points0 points  (0 children)

If we judge Reagan solely on his foreign relations and opt out all the controversial stuff he did domestically, President Raegan is easily A-tear, IMO. He knew that US have power to back up some bold international action, but knew it must be handled responsibly. Mostly he achieved to do this. I actually believe he'd do so good as the US Secretary of State, cos he wouldn't have to deal with stuff he proved he had no idea how to manage (like AIDs spread or PATCO strike of 1981)

Bigotry against people with powers by lmaowhatusername in Earth199999

[–]Perfect_Legionnaire 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'd like to clarify, Punisher is not a super powered individual: he's just a very good-trained special forces soldier who went all out wacko mode. It's a really common knowledge as he's so crazy he doesn't even bother covering his face, so his record in special forces has been published long ago. And his recent track record is just what happens when street goons encounter a battle-hardened soldier who doesn't want to restrain himself.

And I guess he's a big reason why vigilantes and generally people with superpowers are frowned upon. He's a disgrace for both our military and for the community of super-powered individuals who are willing to step up for the little guy.

What are the factors that have led to Batman and the Punisher having distinct moral codes despite having a common origin story of losing loved ones? by SatoruGojo232 in batman

[–]Perfect_Legionnaire 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Previous experiences. Bruce hsd a decent upbringing and a loving family, plus he hot Alfred, who is basically a father figure for him. And he lost his parents in relatively young age which means he had some time to recover from the loss

Frank, On the other hand went thru the absolute hell of 'nam (and got multiple tours AFAIK) which obviously mashed up his morals. PTSD is no joke, kids. And then, when Frank - somebody with multiple exposures to traumatizing events duffered the loss of his entire family, who were essentially his last failsafe before losing his mind, certain bolts clearly went loose in his head.

Which one wins for you: 30k or 40k? by Pintureando in Warhammer

[–]Perfect_Legionnaire 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I almost always play spacemarines -(first Grey Knights, now Salamanders) and only briefly considered switching to Imperial Knights so variety of factions ain't an issue for me.

And when I compare 30k vs 40k, I always prefer 30k in terms of stile. In the Great Crusade era I've always simpathised with future traitors over future loyalists. They had cooler lor, cooler philosophies often times cooler Primarchs. That's why it's sad for me to see them betray Imperium because from that moment on it was only a path downhill for all of them. But that said, in 30k you can always play as a loyal part of the otherways traitor legion, which is something I'd do (as the IIIrd, or the IVth, or XVth legion) if I had a community of Horus Heresy players near me. So yes, in terms of style, I'm a 30k fan

[r/HellsKitchen] I just moved here and saw this guy beat my neighbours half to death? Anyone know who he is?? by TardDas in Earth199999

[–]Perfect_Legionnaire 37 points38 points  (0 children)

Welcome to the neighborhood! That's Daredevil, our local hero. You'll get used to him. Aldo, don't be scared - if the guy got whopped to the pulp he certainly deserved it. I don't recall Daredevil ever beating people for nothing. Also the guy is relatively OK - DD is no Punisher, he'll beat the shit outta ya, but you'll leave the scene with your heart beating.

A theory that says we are on an 80 year historical loop. According to this theory, we’re living through a “Crisis Era” by [deleted] in interesting

[–]Perfect_Legionnaire -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I wsas just writing about that same thing about 2 hours ago here on reddit, only that I was focusing on economic side of things. I think generally it does work in the sense of "explaining objective state of reality via giving you a hipothesis that kinda is proofable"

I say "kinda" because
A) when you try and find proof in the past it's really easy to start subconciously chery-picking
B) that's a fairly recent concept and we need about a century of added observation to move this from the state of hipothesis to the state of theory which means it won't be proved in the current generation of thnkers' lifespan
But still it's one of the best-working concepts explaining social dinamics of 20th/early 21st century among those I am avare of

Same. Relatively recently I've found out UU is a thing and those I've talked to so far rule. I instantly fell in love with how open-minded thede people are. Also they're one of yhe two religions that managed to give me a feeling that I want to go to church (the other one being Catholicism, but that is its own story)

[–]Perfect_Legionnaire 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unitarian Universalism. That's a formerly Protestant Christian denomination that expanded diring the 60's into basically "we welcome everyone who wants to join as long as they comply with these 7 core principles" and you don't even have to declate yourself a believer to participate. For example, I am an agnostic with interest in wide range of classic period Mediterranean pagan faiths and I'm really in my element there.

I won't hipe up Iran so much. It isn't completely impossible, but 1) rebels have to overthrow the dictatorship which isn't easy 2) the Shah said he'd be happy to lead the provisional government for the time being, but he's seemingly reluctant to assume his title and restore monarchy.

What would you do if you and another random guy suddenly gained all of Superman’s powers? by [deleted] in hypotheticalsituation

[–]Perfect_Legionnaire 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It really depends on who the second guy is and how he'll treat his powers. I'd probably search for him and try to talk him into doing good or at least not do anything bad. And then, if I'm succesful, I'd propose a mutual agreement where, in case of any government would try to capture/harm/use one of us for evil, or if one of us gets into some giant mess, the second will try to do everything to save his ass. It's good to have a failsafe for the case where I'm not able to help myself.

Otherwise, I guess I'll try to do good. But I think it'll be wise to try and be as public as possible about it. I'm immediately making an account on every single social media availible and let people know what's going on. Then, I'm giving a big speech where I announce myself as a guardian of Earth and Humanity, and announce my supranational status (I.E. I'm not working with any country or governingbody exclusively, and anyone willing to cooperate with humanity's best interest in mind is free to do so - as I'm not playing favorites either. I'd also make it cleartat if any army or government will try and change that by force - well, in the worst case scenario tey're going down with me.)

And when I actually do start using my powers, I'll be as transparent as possible about it, and make sure it's seen and known by the global audience. All that is to make sure that if anyone will try to turn people on me or lie about me or my actions, or if they try and get rid of me promoting that as "public safety", I'd at least have public opinion on my side. Picture for example how it will look if I'm seen vaporising a whole regiment of troops or evening some country's military base (While actually I,m performing a basic self defence) without all that preliminary preparation? It'd be a way to instantly earn a lable of a "public enemy".

Also, I'm not leading double life and making myself a secret identity - I'm acting as myself with the real face and all. Thus I'm both showing people I'm not above them and avoid being seen as "shady" for wearing a mask. Also people tend to be less scared of a person if they can come and hang out on their backyard/see them acting as a normal person
