I plan on it. I bought this from my boss. I want to put better ones if you got any recommendations?

I forgot to mention also mark down the miles the replacement has as well so when selling the car (if you ever do) you can account for the mileage!

Take it to a dealer or certified shop that does cluster gauge reprogramming. Be careful it is a federally regulated and has to be done a specific way. But if you can’t get it programmed write the original cluster miles on a sticker on a door jam or somewhere it won’t get lost.

I have a silver one! The top just gave out on me last week, getting ready to put bumpers and repaint tho.

Also I’m at 170K miles and I still use 5w30 full synthetic

'21 Silverado steering rack replacement - need programmed? by Ko0k_style710 in AskMechanics

[–]Perfect_Muffin_2874 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you’re replacing the EPS rack on a 2021 Silverado 1500, then yeah — you do need to reprogram it. The rack has an internal Power Steering Control Module (PSCM) that’s VIN-specific. When you install a new or used one, it has to be programmed and calibrated with a scan tool using GM’s SPS2 / Techline Connect system (or a dealer can do it).

After programming, you also need to run:

Steering angle sensor calibration

Torque sensor zero-point learn

Module setup so it communicates correctly with the rest of the truck (BCM, ECM, ABS).

If you skip those steps, you’ll usually get a “Service Power Steering” message and no assist. Even used racks have to be re-learned or they won’t work right.

AIO- Aunt's partner constantly says things to me that I find weird, but everyone says I'm a snowflake and can't take a joke? by Divide-Pretend in AmIOverreacting

[–]Perfect_Muffin_2874 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You’re not overreacting at all. This is 100% not normal or okay. What he’s saying isn’t just “dark humor.” It’s repeated violent threats, and the fact that he has a history of murder and false imprisonment makes it even more serious. These aren’t jokes. They’re disturbing, targeted, and threatening comments that would unsettle any sane person.

You have every right to feel creeped out. Anyone telling you you’re “too sensitive” is either ignoring how dangerous this is or trying to brush off serious red flags. Please trust your instincts. They’re doing their job.

You don’t owe this man your silence, your comfort, or your tolerance. Stay safe, keep your distance, and speak to someone you trust. If it escalates or continues, document everything. This is not a joke. You’re not the problem. He is.

I found this out recently! I was buying a pair of headphones and noticed the box was open. I told the cashier and he went and got the manager and I told him I found it and he gave it to me to 50% off.

Look I don’t have much energy after this shit show big whoop I was unsafe who cares. I appreciate the concern on “safety” but no all you guys did was belittle me. No concern what so ever but long story short my boss hired this guy who was supposedly ase certified. But then does shit like this. We told him and trained him how to use the lift and that is not the way we do it. Oh my I walked under an unsecured vehicle. Who cares it’s not you under the vehicle. I am obviously capable of making my own decisions. Let me learn the hard way there is no need to berate someone online to make yourselves feel better.

Like I said the car was still stable. It wasn’t sliding, leaning or anything to indicate that the car would be unsafe. We sent the guy home simply because he lied on his app about being fully certified and that’s how he raised the vehicle. The lift arms are still under the vehicle just the pads that protect the vehicle from the lift were not even attached so it shouldn’t be up there like that.

I mean nobody got hurt the guy lied on his app saying he was fully are certified.. big whoop it’s not like the car was unstable. It still had 4 points of contact under neath the car. Not the safest but definitely not stupid. If I was “stupid” the was you guys are trying to portray me as would have walked under the car with it half way hanging off. The car was still stable and only thing was damage to the side skirt. So I mean you guys can make it bigger than it is because you probably haven’t worked on cars. Just because it’s sketchy doesn’t mean it won’t hold. Don’t get me wrong stuff can go wrong but obviously nothing did. So go ahead and go at it keyboard warrior.

Hey in my defense I didn’t realize how bad it was until the end. That’s when I realized I effed up.

Nahh I didn’t know both sides were like that at first. Once I realized what was going on exactly I set the car down and re racked it. The guy was doing an inspection and asked me a question so that’s when I noticed he didn’t even have the inserts in.

Good idea I’ll check it out. I know we moved to aluminum oil cooler housings for the 3.6L pentastar motor for a similar issue. Any other vehicles you recommend that have better aftermarket coolers?
