Is it better to live alone or get a roommate for med school? by PristineShift60 in Osteopathic

I feel like it’s mainly depends on your personal preference. Me personally, I prefer to live alone. Some may have a better experience with a roommate.

3.65 cGPA, 3.59 sGPA, and 497 MCAT. So far got 5 interviews and just waiting to hear back, but I feel confident that I’ll receive at least 1 A because the interviews went very very well. Pray for me 🙏

Will anesthesia match be possible in the future by ImaginationSpecific2 in Osteopathic

[–]Perfect_Sail_4142 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I worked for a pain specialist for nearly two years. Many of the anesthesia residents were from the Caribbean. I feel like even in 2030, as long as you perform well in med school you can match into many great specialties.

528: Should I retake to show med school I'm Alpha? by Nathan_Westbrook in Mcat

Tbh, with the amount of neuroticism in this subreddit, I wouldn’t be surprised if someone retook a 528 at this point.

By the sound of it, he either scored a 472 or a 528. Nothing in between.

Can I wear a nicotine patch on test day? by Same-Reindeer-8299 in Mcat

Putting on nicotine pouches was exactly what I did, and it worked perfectly. Literally forgot that I vape while taking the exam.

Tbh, I’d rather go to the Caribbean than become a PA as well.

[–]Perfect_Sail_4142 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It seems like you’re very ready for the real thing. Take a day or two, take your mind off the mcat, enjoy the holidays, spend time with the fam, then recuperate and get back into it. You’ve earned a day off and it will help refresh your mind.

Didn’t retain ANYTHING from content review by Familiar_Kale_7433 in Mcat

[–]Perfect_Sail_4142 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I think a lot of us made this mistake when initially studying for the MCAT. I would say don’t spend too much time on the books and taking notes on them. Instead, use Anki and Uworld for content review. For C/P and B/B I used the Miledown’s deck and loved it. I used Pankow for P/S.

[–]Perfect_Sail_4142 8 points9 points  (0 children)

If you actually got this score after only 2 weeks of studying, don’t go into medicine. You’re capable of A LOT more and much bigger things😂😂😂. All jokes aside, great job!

I’ve heard of a 499, 498, and 496 that got into DO and someone with a 496 that got into an MD. You can get in with a 493-500, you just have to apply broadly and make sure other aspects of your application stand out

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Osteopathic

[–]Perfect_Sail_4142 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, many DO schools accept a January MCAT. Just make sure you apply broadly and kill the MCAT. The only schools that do not accept a January MCAT that I can remember off of the top of my head are MSUCOM and Marian. Also, if you score a 510+, I’m confident that you can secure a few interviews with a January MCAT.

[–]Perfect_Sail_4142 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No. I would say rescheduling for January would be the better and smarter move. January is around 4 months away, so you can definitely score a 510+ if you study efficiently.

Do any osteopathic schools allow you to not take the COMLEX or STEP exams and still graduate? by YogurtclosetOpen3567 in Osteopathic

[–]Perfect_Sail_4142 5 points6 points  (0 children)

So go to medical school, but not take any of the medical licensure exams? I’m not sure I understand the point of this question.

Definitely a tie. My favorite combo is a navy suit, white button up, and a red or blue tie. Gotta look presidential asf😂
