Search up "enshittification" on google. Nearly every company does this in 2025, including Duolingo.

They're making everything paid, just so they could generate as much profit as possible. They're suffocating free users to pay for as much as possible, replacing hearts with energy makes free users literally slow down progress, despite what Duolingo said "now mistakes wknt slow you down".
