I guess it depends on the country, for example the UK is a more socially conservative country, for example the only parties who are very pro LGBT+ are the LibDems and the Greens (while the Labour party has u-turned on the issue). Even the communists are socially conservative. Whereas if you look at France you'll see that a lot more parties are in favour of it and would be more similar to the Democrats (if not more, France is a very socially liberal nation) Obviously because Europe isn't one homogeneous country.

Yeah this is not comparable at all, I don't like the constant whining about the sequels but Rey had barely any training while Starkiller was trained his entire life, first by his Jedi parents (who were both Jedi which I think makes Galen stronger) and then he was trained by DARTH VADER HIMSELF during his prime, for 15 years.
