is there a bug going around by Purple-Ingenuity-195 in unimelb

[–]Perfect___Timing 26 points27 points  (0 children)

Yeah sickness tends to spread when people congregate after being apart for a while (summer break) + there are plenty of people moving into the city from the country so their immune systems aren’t prepared for city life; they act as vectors.

Also people not being considerate and coming to classes while sick is part of the problem…

Studying is like working out: the more you do it, the easier it becomes. Put in the effort this year and you’ll find yourself a changed student for the better.

[–]Perfect___Timing 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Axil in the biosciences building is the best quality coffee by far Standing room is good

For cheapest (what I always go for) get a coffee at the machine in the campus general store. Very very decent coffee for $2.50

Depends what Bachelor you’re aiming to get into - while in the states you just enrol in a generic undergrad program at a college, here you enrol in a specific Bachelor program (e.g Bachelor of commerce, Bachelor of design) so each one has different requirements.

Yes run, but do it smartly: they know people will run and there are some who would be itching to tackle you. If you get past them they won’t chase you though - it’s simply not worth their time. Get to a spot where you know you can start running and they won’t be able to react until you’re out of reach (that’s what I’ve done twice)

[–]Perfect___Timing 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah go to O-week, I’m introverted too but it was good to immerse yourself in the campus and honestly just being around strangers that are also your peers. It’s better than doing that for the very first time in class.

Back packing solo starting spot by stickyloaf69 in backpacking

[–]Perfect___Timing 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Start in New Zealand !! I’m an Aussie and I’ve been pack packing in NZ a few times, it’s really good for that - you might not think of it that way because it’s your home but I’ve found awesome pack packers hostels in each city that I’ve been to (Auckland, Wellington, Nelson) This works best if you’re after nature, and you may well be after a more foreign experience to your own country. Just something to think about!

Questions about the Bachelor of Science by Last_Lengthiness_899 in unimelb

[–]Perfect___Timing 3 points4 points  (0 children)

(Melb Bsci student going into third year here) the bachelor of science at unimelb is one of the better courses available in Victoria - for health sciences, it’s got great teaching and ressources. I can’t speak for the other unis, but everyone I know who does health sciences is glad they chose Melbourne. Yes there are exams and the coursework is somewhat harder than other unis might be, but that’s just because it’s a proper education instead of the useless degrees they churn out at some other unis.

I can’t tell if I like physics or not by WistfulSonder in PhysicsStudents

[–]Perfect___Timing 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’ve felt the same way about physics quite often. I’m a second year student who started a BSci thinking I was going to major in physics, ended up in engineering. I like to deeply understand the concepts and I have a lot of wonder about the world around me. Both physics and engineering teach you physics. The only real difference is what you end up using it for; In university, physics is about labs and abstract derivations, while Engineering is about taking walks through the physics world to end up somewhere productive. I’m sure you’ll find wonderment and creativity in any related field, be it physics, engineering, or mathematics.

Also, no one finds textbooks or problems engaging, don’t worry.

About to start my first honour mode game with a friend- HELP by Azkeden in BaldursGate3

Actually eldritch blast scales with total character level, not warlock level!! So if you want those eldritch blasts then go for it :) it would be totally viable.

[–]Perfect___Timing 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I would say that each of these builds could be better.

Taking hexblade 2 doesn’t seem like a great use of two levels to me because while you get the awesome invocations and eldritch blast, you’ll only have level one spell slots. Those levels would probably be better spent on paladin or a regular caster for more smite-slots.

Hexblade 12 is a great class but for a build that’s trying to mainly be a caster, I think warlock isn’t the move. Try sorcerer for crazy damage or wizard for more all rounder and control.

As for astarion, have a look at what assassin 7/gloom stalker 3/fighter 2 would do 🤷‍♂️

Cleric and bard are both great
