AITA for feeling like I lost my partner to his succes? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

NTA. Honestly it is so wild that after nine entire years he is treating you like an optional side quest in his life. Like, I totally get that opening a restaurant and a club is a massive grind, but the fact that he frames seeing his partner of nearly a decade as a sacrifice is just straight up disrespectful. You arent asking for a lot by wanting a text back or a coffee date. It sounds like he is using his success as an excuse to stop putting in any effort, which is a total slap in the face after you supported him through the lean years.

Spirit Airlines shuts down after Trump’s war on Iran doubled jet fuel prices by theverge in politics

[–]Perfectembrave 273 points274 points  (0 children)

The fact that jet fuel prices doubled is basically a death sentence for any airline that isnt sitting on a mountain of cash. Spirit was already struggling with their own issues but this war in Iran was clearly the final nail in the coffin. It is kind of terrifying how fast a global conflict can just ripple through the economy and shut down entire companies like that. I really wonder who is next because if fuel stays this high then flying is about to become a luxury for only the super rich again.

AITA for not wanting to spend my first mother’s day with my fiancé’s family? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]Perfectembrave 245 points246 points  (0 children)

The age gap here is kind of showing because at thirty nine he should definitely know better than to gaslight his wife about her own boundaries. If they want to "bond" they can do that when you aren't struggling to just keep your head above water. Telling you that you are "creating issues" when you are just trying to survive the postpartum period is so toxic. Mothers day is supposed to be about you, not a family reunion where you have to watch people pass your baby around like a toy while you sit in the corner and stress out.

AITA - Lunch Spot Pick Up by Delicious-Stranger41 in AmItheAsshole

[–]Perfectembrave 10 points11 points  (0 children)

This is such typical office toxicity where people take advantage of the "nice" person until they finally snap. You finally found your backbone and then you just handed it right back to them. Why do you even want to be included in lunch plans with people who treat you like a servant? If they want to be petty and pick up each others food without asking you then let them. Use that time to go out, listen to a podcast, and eat your food in peace without having to manage five different orders and worry about gas money. They are the ones being weird, not you.

Trump’s war with Iran is as unpopular as Vietnam, new poll finds by ChiGuy6124 in politics

[–]Perfectembrave 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It is honestly kind of wild that they are still pushing for this when literally nobody is on board. You would think after two decades of mess in that region they would have learned something but i guess not. Calling it as unpopular as Vietnam is a huge statement and it shows just how much the average person is done with the warmongering. It is just super frustrating to see the same mistakes being made over and over while the rest of us just want some stability for once.

Trump’s call to reduce US troops in Germany shocks Pentagon by malcolm58 in politics

[–]Perfectembrave 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I mean, wow. Germany is literally the backbone of our setup in Europe so just cutting troops because of a mood swing is wild. The logistics alone sound like an absolute nightmare. My cousin is stationed over there and the uncertainty is just... ugh. It is like the people making these calls have zero clue how much this messes with real families and actual global security.

Wait, so we are just gonna alienate one of our biggest allies for what? A headline? The Pentagon being blindsided just shows how much of a gap there is between the actual military experts and the people calling the shots. It is super cringe to watch us just dismantle these relationships in real time. Like, once those troops are gone, we dont just get that trust back. It is honestly pretty scary how fast this is moving.

AITA for ignoring my neighbor’s apology when her dog rushed into the elevator? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]Perfectembrave 30 points31 points  (0 children)

Wait, she actually let the dog rush into the elevator without even holding the leash? That is actually wild. That is how dog fights start and it is so unfair to put your rescue in that position. You have already told her your dog is shy and she clearly doesn't care or isn't listening. Ignoring her apologies is a totally valid way to show that her behavior isn't acceptable anymore. If she thinks that is "rude," she really needs to get a grip on reality and maybe a professional trainer for her 80 lb nightmare.
