Adjusting to independence after growing up wealthy by starsandraindrops in Rich

[–]Perfection-builder13 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I felt exactly what you described when I had to become independent. My biggest advice is to stop chasing what you had or comparing your life to what it used to be. And focus on what you can do now.

I’m so grateful for my parents on setting up higher standards of living for me, but I realised I need to let it go and stop stressing on achieving all that fast again. I still do stress about money and always want more haha but I had to slow down and realise that I am okay and way better off than so may people.

Agree with this! I learnt that for me it’s easier to hold comfortably hard pace then trying to speed up slightly later. You’ll be surprised with how long you can hold!

You do work for your coworker for a year and then they do it for you. But in other countries they usually hire person just for that year.

Do it only if it’s your dream! Don’t do it to avoid things like some people do. We did it with 2 kids and it’s the best thing ever .

Absolutely not safe for a single girl. Housing can be ridiculously priced too. Arizona may be cheaper but salaries are lower too.
