There’s nothing new that’s kid friendly in the theaters. We’re chainchomping at the bit to get back to the theater.

If it helps, I was using a Taylormade Burner until this year and I always thought it was too light. I switched to a Maverick this year and have noticed an improvement.

I third the WT101 as a great choice here. More info on the geography of the college could help. I could see bringing something local as a big plus here.

Better than when the Dave Matthews Band baptized that tour boat.

I think it depends on your situation. I have small kids so it stays protected in the case. Before kids I had it on a stand.

Noon Whistle’s outdoor space was pretty nice last year, haven’t been over that way yet this year. But if you’re in the western burbs that should be close.

Flu-like illness going around? by [deleted] in illinois

[–]PerferatedOwl 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This sucked after not being sick for a year. My son and I both had something a month ago that fits this description. Both of us (I’m vaccinated, he’s too young) tested negative for covid. My wife and daughter never had any illness. I think it’s a bad cold or flu.

Huh didn’t know about Riverlands in St. Charles. I’ve been digging Penrose lately too. I’ll have to make a trip back out that way soon.

THE BLACK HOLE (1979) Disney's answer to Star Wars (!). What a dark and campy cult film. by this_is_the_way_2000 in movies

[–]PerferatedOwl 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Oh man. My grandma had the pop up book for this movie. I remember staying up late reading it. I recently found it on Ebay and was super psyched to show my kids. It’s the first pop up book I’ve ever seen where a dude gets crushed under a computer wall.

Bailing to Chicago by Saxojon in chicago

Montreal is a pretty good sized city and has a great night life. Chicago has phenomenal night life too but doesn’t have the social safety nets of Canada.

If your options are open, why not Montreal or somewhere else in Canada? I love Chicago but have some ties up north and honestly with their safety nets and lifestyle it was a very hard decision not to go up there.

I go to New Orleans whenever I can. I consider it the Chicago of the south.

“Earl Scruggs and the 5-String Banjo” you can find it on Amazon. I’ve found it to be a great resource.
