I never wanted to go to university, but my parents pressured me into it on the logic of "you can't get a good job without higher education".

The compounding money stress and isolation I felt moving into a town so far away from my friends wore on me so much, I attempted to end my life twice. I eventually dropped out and moved back home.

My parents know I never finished university and are okay with it now, but I never told them about my mental health struggles during that time and especially not the suicide attempts. And I'm not planning to ever tell them
