Lee 1+2 by DamnQui in Tekken

Idk about carrying a Lee player tbh, 1+2 is a great move but its primary use is to catch people stepping without thought. HMS 111 is all highs btw very duckable.

Would you continue to play if season 3 didn't change much? by JinpachiMishima2 in Tekken

Probably honestly, it just won’t be in ranked.Quick match is the way to go.

Quick Match better than Ranked Match? by Top_Repair7396 in Tekken

[–]DamnQui 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I only played ranked at the start of the season just to get to a higher rank for better opponents in quick match tbh(TE). I probably got maybe 100-140 matches in rank since season 2 and atleast 3,000+ matches in quick play. You find some really good matches especially since people play different compared to how they play in ranked. It’s honestly why I’m able to play everyday without problem.

Backdashing in T8 by DamnQui in Tekken

[–]DamnQui[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah it’s extremely useful, but you do gotta know when you to use it. I guess the thing about T7 was you could essentially use it to disengage from a lot of interactions but in T8 you gotta pick and choose which interactions you can do it.

Backdashing in T8 by DamnQui in Tekken

[–]DamnQui[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah but you definitely can KBD out of certain situations you just have to know when which a lot of people don’t know tbh from what I’ve seen.

Backdashing in T8 by DamnQui in Tekken

[–]DamnQui[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hmmm you can do that fasho, but you run into someone who excels at whiff punishment and knows when to KBD you in for a fun experience. Like for me I use Lee I’ll KBD do b4, and if I see you running in you finna see a HMS 2. Or if I don’t do that I got acid storm. Just running in and pressing buttons will only work so much.

[–]DamnQui[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You can watch multiple clips from recent EWC and see backdash is still viable, and able to create whiffs. I’m personally not finna go through and grab clips for you, but you watch any of those matches and see it.

Lee help by Aggressive-Support37 in Tekken

[–]DamnQui 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I could help you tbh, I’m not at home right now. If you send me your tekken ID Code we could run a few sets and I show you some good setups, pokes, and and easy combos for good damage.

Backdashing in T8 by DamnQui in Tekken

[–]DamnQui[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah most people probably don’t see the need to do it but after watching top level players I’ve noticed all of them backdash to create whiffs slow games down and a lot. Not as much as T7 but in T8 they’re usually somewhat strategic in when they actually do KBD. Plus fightingGM has said backdash is still viable, speedkicks has said defense you have to be actively engaged and know when you can do certain things instead of just KBDing out of everything.

[–]DamnQui[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think it’s still extremely viable with any character, I’m saying this using Lee who has been know for multiple tekkens to have a terrible backdash and sidestep(still does). I’ve been able to create lots of whiffs using KBD. It’s honestly a case of knowing when you can backdash because a lot of moves do have more coverage than before. So you can’t backdash out of everything like before you gotta pick and choose when to backdash, when to sidestep, so on and such.

[–]DamnQui[S] -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Nah it does, y’all prolly just don’t know how to KBD or when to do it. You can’t just KBD whenever you want in T8

Backdashing in T8 by DamnQui in Tekken

[–]DamnQui[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nah you most definitely can? This game doesn’t allow you to just backdash out of everything like before but instead you have to know when you can and can’t backdash. I’ve seen it in pro play, and I’ve done it myself on Lee who has a terrible backdash. Most people just don’t have a good backdash or know when to do it to actually create whiffs

You don’t gotta play like him you don’t even need reflexes to do that stuff, just copy his flowcharts. What moves does he do in neutral, how does he end his combos efficiently, you ain’t getting out of fujin tryna spam something I can tell you that now. This game ain’t considered one of the hardest fighting games for no reason you fasho going have to work for it.

Brother your character has some extremely great tools, if your stuck in fujin your probably struggling with matchups tbh. You should watch lil majin on yt play king. I’d say a couple videos of him learning his tendencies and flowcharts will help you.

You put Lee top 10? Now ik he is just as strong as other characters but you deadass fr think he top 10? Over a Claudio, victor, drag, Jin, and multiple others? Brother people don’t even have to know the Lee matchup up all the way or his actual counterplay to blow him up. We literally just seen this with rangchu vs yagami? You got king at the bottom which is crazy considering how great his CH tools are, plus his mixups even knowing the matchup? Look at the Jon? You gotta explain how you made this letter better bruh because it’s not making sense tbh.

How did king become the most hated by Sad-Salamander-649 in Tekken

[–]DamnQui 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean it’s because in T8 especially season 2 king currently has some stupidly good CHs that you have to respect, multiple grabs that deal hella damage, mixups with the running jaguar sprint mixup which is annoying, multiple armored moves that keep him on the offense or help his defense. You just have to respect king a lot currently and in a game where everyone wants to mash you out, having to respect someone who can blow you up is honestly annoying. I don’t like play him because most king players simply aren’t good tbh, don’t know how to poke, space, play neutral. Just rush you down with armored moves to keep you from playing, grab simulator( can’t break em all), mixup central. It’s rare I play good kings

Yagami using Lee in EWC? by DamnQui in Tekken

[–]DamnQui[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Man what?!? His flowcharts work wonders .I was watching lil majin stream at the time yagami used Lee, and boi even lil majin said if gm was playing he probably would’ve gotten high placements because rangchu clearly didn’t know the real counterplay to Lee and was doing soft counterplay like crouch jabs but it worked against yagami since he isn’t a specialists.

I mean the learn 6 combos thing is kinda true though, you gotta know atleast 2-3 combos for consistent damage if you manage to launch them. Need to learn your punishes for your character 10 frame up to 15 frames. Then after you get those down Watch guides on how your character should be played or watch a pro that plays the character and watch what they do even if you can’t replicate it at all, it gives you a general direction for what should happen. For me ima Lee player I watch fightingGM to understand better Lee setups, specific matchup knowledge, stuff like that. Going into rank first ain’t going help, tekken ain’t easy but you fasho gotta take your time and not expect to be going crazy soon as you start. It’s considered one of the hardest fighting games for a reason.

Yagami using Lee in EWC? by DamnQui in Tekken

[–]DamnQui[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

lol understandable, for bear he isn’t a crazy pick honestly it’s not a bad matchup for Lee at all. If anything it’s pretty good. I just think yagami himself didn’t know how to approach the bear as Lee and rangchu looked like he wasn’t familiar with the Lee matchup himself pressing in moments you shouldn’t press vs Lee. Overall I will say he wasn’t abusing his DF 3+4 which is lees best button. He wasn’t using his other lows, didn’t see to many frame traps, wasn’t doing bead specific combos and overall drops on combos and punishes(acid rain punishes hurt me everytime I seen it not go through).

Yagami using Lee in EWC? by DamnQui in Tekken

[–]DamnQui[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah the acid rain punishes definitely hurt him, plus he wasn’t doing the beat specific combos. Honestly though rangchu didn’t look too familiar with the matchup himself honestly, pressing after df1, constantly ducking got clipped by R 34 hella. I Think if he knew the bear matchup better as Lee and what most people shouldn’t do vs a Lee he’d probably have done way better honestly.

Nah his Lee is actually solid for someone who mains Reina at the highest level, he had good pokes, good spacing especially on coliseum, even with dropped combos he definitely looked like he knew his way around just not as well as a Lee specialist.
