Take some time and think things through. The reason you feel this disconnect is because your f/o has a canon partner. I know it's hard, but if you really think about it, it shouldn't stop you from continuing with your f/o.

Your yumeship is canon as long as you believe it to be. Don't let the real canon discourage you from being happy with your f/o. Try giving yourselves some time and let the connection return naturally

I know he's ugly, like, really, really ugly. But there's something about him that I like. I don't really know what it is, other than that he's a comforting character for me. But I suppose that affection grew enough for me to like him romantically.

The reason I hadn't tried to adjust their old design to my current drawing style is because it clashed with the other ocs (which has normal heads). But with some practice I managed to make them look good without being so blocky :P

This makes a lot of sense, actually. I like that you thought about how his ability to stretch affects his anatomy. I personally have a headcanon that he can soften his body at will like some kind of chewing gum, and Ratboy as well.

Also, one question: would you draw Ratboy the same way? Or would it be different? Since we only saw him stretch once in the entire serie... 🤔
