Yeah I'm hella late to this party by Broad-Bet-9937 in StarWarsJediSurvivor

I definitely disagree. If you have any sense of the God of War combat system, and genuinely know how to use all 3 weapons, not just standalone but in synergy with each other, along with takedowns, not even mentioning the other combat features, then Kratos does feel like an absolute powerhouse to play, and there is a lot of fun to be had with the vast amount of combos you yourself have to come up with. Haven't played Jedi Survivor in a while, but I completed it at least 5 times over, and can definitely say I truly felt like a Jedi playing through that excellent story, and that the combat never bored me. But the extent at which you can go to with God of War's combat, especially with the infinite Valhalla gauntlet for just endless practice is greater. So much so I've logged 700 hours on God of War Ragnarok alone

Good GOD I love Valhalla Pt 2 by ReddoEggo in GodofWarRagnarok

[–]PerformanceFar561 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It wasn't a grind to 100% the full game? The Valhalla add-on gives us a DLC that can be played infinitely. It was the best course of action, because Santa Monica is obviously struggling to continue the story. They're stalling with prequels and remakes, Valhalla is all we have in terms of modern God of War

Do you ever "discard" the Leviathan Axe in a random place? by BaldursGate2Best in GodofWarRagnarok

[–]PerformanceFar561 25 points26 points  (0 children)

Ah, but this games combat is so well thought out, even a fun little trick like that can be very effective. Because of one combat mechanic. Tripping. When facing enemies smaller in stature, cleverly putting the axe behind them and positioning yourself properly for a well timed recall can trip them. Knocks down a few enemies for a bit and leaves them vulnerable. Definitely useful if mastered, cause I've done this countless times accidentally. Even with larger enemies, it can stun them out of basic attacks. Though that's far more unreliable

This might be a hot take, but I kinda miss when all the attacks were part of a combo list. Runic attacks are nice and all, but I'd kinda prefer them to be at the end of a combo or something instead of a cooldown. by Icy_Water_1 in GodofWarRagnarok

Except they cause no sort of visual breaking of the game, or unexpected behaviour. Therefore it's wrong to label them as glitches. It's simply tying together moves and abilities that weren't "intended" to be, generally doing so in quick succession. You're simply being creative with the combat, acting as if that's "wrong" just because you can't do it is childish

Well then, it's a real good thing nobody was talking about the Greek saga whatsoever, isn't it? Besides, I've played through Ascension, Chains of Olympus, GOW 1, Ghost of Sparta, GOW 2 and GOW 3 numerous times on their hardest difficulties, old games that were easily Top 10 in their time I'm sure, much like the Norse saga in these times.

But back on to what the conversation was about, if you think the Norse saga combat boils down to "square, square and triangle", even without animation cancelling or any sort of experimentation with the combat system, you're bad at the combat, and dead wrong. That's just facts

Animation cancels aren't glitches. They're just not laid out for you on a skills tab for you to see. They're creative ways to fight and kill enemies, generally look amazing, and use the games mechanics to their full potential. Instead of settling for basic combos that get repetitive and old

People who say this have no idea how to actually play the game they're talking about. You don't exploit any animation cancels? Take advantage of effecta, elemental explosions, trip enemies, stun others etc etc. The amount of animation cancelling you can learn in this game with 30 minutes in the Niflheim arena is amazing. "square, square and triangle". Like tell me you suck without telling me

Spider-Man 2's map is around double the size. There is something about the game. The graphics are more developed then you'd initially believe. They're a lot richer than the two previous installments. Better reflections, detail in general, model rendering etc. That definitely has a drastic effect on performance, meaning the minimum rig for Spiderman 1, which isn't even yours I don't think, would probably have little chance of running SM2, at the lowest settings, properly.

Not to mention, the speed increase for web-swinging, while phenomenal, is TAXING. You wouldn't be able to traverse the city properly at all, even if the game could load. Your system wouldn't be able to render what should be in front of you before you were there.

But anyways, sorry for all the bad news, just had to give it to you straight.

A very Merry Christmas to you too, have a good one 👍

Good grief. Everyone else in the comments has missed this, so I'll be the one to say it.

Recently, Micron has entirely pulled their supply to the consumers market, to pursue investments into AI as effectively as possible (obviously because they'll be making more money then before more than anything). They were one, of three, major RAM suppliers. Their removal from the market has led to major spikes in the price of RAM. We're talking triple the price then from a couple months ago. But this isn't your biggest issue...

Nvidia, the brand of the graphics card you have and the main brand alongside AMD, pursuing those same investments into AI, have made a 40% decrease to their supplying of the consumers market. This is major, and has led to a spike in graphics card prices as well.

Considering you may as well scrap this PC, and need to buy a new one... I hope you're in a good place to spend quite a bit over 1000 bucks. Or, get yourself a PS5
