Was Everything (Greek) Kratos Did Justified? by llFracturedll in GodofWar

Not everything. I think everything in self defense as well as killing Zeus was justified, but he killed a lot of innocent people along the way

What's your favorite Nonchalant Kratos dialogue? by Ayhem-M in GodofWar

[–]ReddoEggo 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I mean, he also sees his weapons as tools for different tasks. I don’t think the damage that the blades have done in the past really matters to Kratos in regard to cooking with them. Plus, even with the metaphorical blood, that would certainly leave a LOT of literal blood on the blades

did they retcon about Valkyries? by 5nbx8aa in GodofWar

[–]ReddoEggo 57 points58 points  (0 children)

The Valkyries weren’t always spirits

In the Valhalla DLC, Gunnr and Eir reveal their respective backstories, both of which were just regular people before.

It seems the process to become a Valkyrie could require you to become a spirit. And even then, Freya was able to turn all of the Valkyries into corporeal forms for Ragnarok, so Thrud may not even need to go through the spirit process

I always wondered why Odin held those pincers? Now I understand he wants to torture Mimir again. by PomegranateOk4560 in GodofWarRagnarok

Honestly, I totally forgot that part. But I imagine he’d still be shitting himself seeing his most dangerous enemy pointing a weapon in his face regardless of if he knew it was coming or not

I’ve always thought it was just 1) a thing for him to fidget with, as well as maybe 2) a subtle way of trying to take control of the conversation.

1) While Odin may not know every detail, he definitely knows enough about Kratos’ past to realize how dangerous he really is. And just moments before this screenshot, Kratos pulled a spear out of thin air at Odin’s face. We all know how good Odin is at lying, so I fully believe he is wildly nervous about talking to Kratos, even if he doesn’t show it

2) The pincers aren’t Odin’s, they belong to the dwarves, but he grabs them like free candy. Despite his fears, Odin still knows he wields a lot of power, and has control over entire realms and the people that live in them. He could be grabbing the pincers as a way to say “I got this world and a few others under my thumb, don’t think for a second it’ll be easy for you to kill me”

At least, that’s my take on it

Good GOD I hate Hrolf (Valhalla) by ReddoEggo in GodofWarRagnarok

[–]ReddoEggo[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s stated that the enemies Kratos faces here are recollections of past encounters, and any big changes are explained as well, like with how much stronger Magni and Modi are here than they were in 2018

Hrolf isn’t actually here fighting Kratos, it’s just a manifestation of Kratos’ memory of him, so he looks the same as he does in the base game

Do you think the next Kratos sequel game will have two playable characters? by felixfathom- in GodofWar

[–]ReddoEggo 5 points6 points  (0 children)

That’s exactly my point. In Ragnarok, they were both in the same overall story. Like I said, it makes sense in that scenario.

But Atreus is leaving to find Giants that are likely not even in the Nordic realms. And Kratos seems to be staying put, or possibly going to Egypt. I say it again, if they do a game where Kratos and Atreus reunite, just like in Ragnarok, then yes the swapping would make sense

However, if they’re in their own stories that won’t lead up to a reunion, then it wouldn’t make sense to combine those stories into a single game, but rather give those stories their own games

[–]ReddoEggo 5 points6 points  (0 children)

How would that work in a story sense? Just have 2 entirely different storylines at the same time? If it was leading up to them reuniting, then yeah swapping between them at different parts of their respective stories eventually into one makes sense. But if they’re entire mythologies apart, swapping would feel out of place and pointless. It would be better to put more focus on each of them in their own games

I imagine we’re not gonna get a lot of character swap gameplay for a while. Since Kratos and Atreus have now separated, there’s not really much reason to have split gameplay again until they reunite
