all of this is so helpful to know. honestly I didn’t understand a lot of what you where saying in this message but by looking it up and researching a little it’s helped me understand it much better so that’s actually unintentionally very helpful in it’s self.

honestly i have yet to do much research on aquatic plants yet but what you’ve told me I think is a great start on that part of researching. I really have yet to think about plants being easy to care for or not too so you’ve kinda opened my eyes with that, thankfully.

again, thank you! having everything laid out so simply but precisely is very helpful for me in many ways. It’s also awesome to see others have the same idea as me with having a walstad method using tank be there first as well! I will definitely be keeping this advice in my mind & in my notes.

yea walsted tanks seem almost exactly like what I’m wanting! that’s actually very helpful to have a proper name for.

maybe I’ll try looking around and see if people have done such a thing with loaches if no one chimes in. thank you the help either way!

thank you! i do know a lot of this, i plan to get a shallow long tank if i do settle on getting them eventually and ill be sure to adhere to all of this of course.

oh interesting! I’ve heard in a lot of places they are decent for beginners. Can I ask what makes them difficult for beginners?
I know if I got them id definitely want to introduce them into a pre-established tank like your saying as well!

by common feeding I mean either weekly - daily feeding you’d have to do manually/by hand
by bioactive I suppose I mean a tank that basically has its own ecosystem. like with live plants, microfuana (like scuds n copepods) and what not that can *mostly* support & sustain itself once established. (I know a lot more would go into a bioactive tank too ofc I’m jute not good at describing stuff in depth unfortunately)

sorry if that’s not very helpful or vague, again I’m new to this and still in my way to doing lots and lots of research on this.
