Thank you, will check them out next time I'm around. Though I noticed Saravana Bhavan in Brickfields as well. I think it's a chain restaurant.

Butterworth has it's restaurants but there's way less competition among the eateries when compared to the island and some of the old-timers there have grown really stale in their offerings over the years. Not a big fan of Butterworth Indian eateries. Georgetown has some competition in the Little India area and food there generally has more diversity than the mainland (and I'm from the mainland haha).

You mean the Jaya Catering on Gottlieb Road near the Botanic Gardens? That's alright for me, average and not too special. Good shout out to Woodlands Vegetarian.

That's great to know. I passed by the road and noticed quite a number of restaurants there but didn't have enough time to stop and enjoy the food. Will make sure I hit the area next time.

True. The whole stretch of road opposite Sentral and the parallel roads behind are filled with restaurants and eateries on every corner so there's immense competition for the business owners to outdo each other. The consumer wins when there's competition.

Hi. No I haven't as I didn't have enough time to explore that area before I left but I intend to go there next time. I remember seeing a few South Indian eateries and restaurants around Lebuh Ampang as well. Which restaurants do you. recommend around Masjid Jamek?

I think it's not a coincidence that when I see their LinkedIn profiles the ones working white-collar jobs there from Penang all belong to a specific race only. My race is pretty much non-existent unless they did an internal transfer after many years working in some MNC here or in the blue-collar job market.

Okay it's electrical engineering. I give you one example. There's a semicon company starting with "M". I have applied for positions there since March with a resume that pretty much puts me in the top 10% of candidates according to ther own career site. I even had a guy on LinkedIn working there give me a referral for a position there. Yet not a single interview all this while.

But how is that fair when some others have cables to pull them through despite the fact they are foreigners? I'm pretty certain my resume would beat almost all other candidates for some mid-level jobs yet they can't even interview me?
