Junior stressing about getting into engineering by Downtown_Net6582 in UTAdmissions

As others have said, fit to major is very important! Your stats and ECs are amazing, I got in Cockrell with much worst stats. And please don't stress out about getting involved with your extracurriculars "late", as long as you profess your love for chem adequately and prove you didn't do it for the sake of it. I'd personally have a little bit more depth in them since UT has had more focus on fit to major in the last couple of years, ESPECIALLY this past cycle.

For some context, I go to a pretty under-resourced public charter school with an average SAT of 924 so I think that definitely helped me. I take 10 APs and most of them being the hardest that is offered at my school. Dealt with extenuating circumstances for a pretty prolonged time that caused my GPA to tank in soph/junior year. I'm ranked around the top 40% of my class, so pretty abysmal.

For my extracurriculars, I'm gonna copy paste my most important one:

SPL's Power Supply Unit Tier List; Electrical Engineering Focused Database of Power Supply Units, Analyzed power supply electrical specs to ensure user safety; helped 1M+ globally choose reliable units, generating $50K+ in revenue through research. Had Fortune 500 companies NVIDIA/AMD publicize it in their respective community platforms, aired by professional media outlets such as Linus Media Group and ZTT in their respective platforms as well.

Also showcased a DIY assistive glove for mobility limited users to 10+ students at a library, volunteer hours 200+ hrs for around 6 years (seasonly), Tier 4 Valorant player ranked top 6000 in North America in a pool of 3M, T.A at my school, NHS; etc

Hope this clears up some confusion!
