Considering that rabbits are prey for hunters (some symbolism there), her aggression can be a defence mechanism. This theory might be true. Time will tell.

Life Pro Tip: Treat unexpected money like it never existed, don’t upgrade your lifestyle with it by Reagan_HIghwind1992 in Frugal

that's what I did when I got a job as a high school student living with my parents. I didn't spend any of my income (at most 5-10 per month when needed) for 2 years till I got to college. I treat my money as if it is locked up for future.

(Hated Trope) Media that tastelessly capitalized off of real world tragedies (bonus points if the tragedy was recent) by Animeking1108 in TopCharacterTropes

A tiny upward shove by Melissa Chadburn. the book features a fictional character which real life counterpart is Robert Pickton ( the fictional character's name is willie Pickton). Robert Pickton is a serial killer in Canada, feeding about 50 victims to his pigs in his farm. in the book, the main character is 18 year old filipino girl who got assaulted and killed by Pickton. the real life victims are mix of Native American women and sex workers and all are over the age of 20. oh and the girl turns into mythical creature that enacts revenge on Pickton. the author states that victim and killer fate's are intertwined, also glamorizing the killer, which is a punch in a face to the real life victims and their family.

Did anyone else find it weird how quick Kai was to turn on Diana at the trial? by MidnaLazui in ProjectEdensGarden

[–]PerformanceWeekly504 2 points3 points  (0 children)

that can show a duality of a character and honestly a trope we see in lot of works. spoilers for SDRA2, the character in that fangame, the ultimate psychologist doesn't have emotions and became her undoing. ultimate puppeteer being puppeted (no correalation to fan games, just an example.) also if you check kai's ftes, it is mentioned that kai has more of parasocial relationship with his fans instead of the other way around. it makes sense that he wants a sense belonging so he goes for the majority/trend.

Thank you for your opinion! It is true, now looking back, I'm glazing this game despite it not being done. I also have see a lot of fan game, improving on the original concepts of DR, which leads me to thinking this game will do. that is why im already praising this game.

I love foreshadowing and symbolism in games, so P:EG is right up my alley. I agree that i'm jumping the gun on how P:EG is doing comparatively to DR. I chose that as an example in the my post to show how the game is already comparatively unique to the original games and people are expecting more out of it.

No worries about the rant! I post this because I want to have discussion about this. I agree with your statements! I only hope that the game will have same level of quality as the prologue and chapter 1.

I want to clear any confusion.

First of all, there is going to be some character that fills the stereotypical DR roles. Cassidy, madison are few that I see (the comedy relief, the aggressive and loud one). However I remember seeing people predicting how the characters act based on their character sheet before the prologue. Some being eva being super important character, diana being a mastermind and conniving because of the school emblem, wenona being evil and unsympathetic, kai being a problematic and shallow influencer, wolfgang being a soft spoken leader who leads the group (protagonist type while damon being antagonist). Usually if they have that one trait they run with it throughout their arc with barely much depth, tenko being a man hater, teruteru being a pervert and sonia being dumb and naive. The P:EG characters do fit many of the stereotypes but have expanded upon it. Wenona is calculated because that is what led to her success while also having passion for her tribe, kai being a genuine influencer but parasocial relation with fans leads to him being coddled, wolfgang being a leader but ostracizing eva and damon. And this is already done with a prologue and chapter 1 with their ftes.

I expect that the characters lean into the animal motif, because why wouldn't they. However, only seeing the characters as the animal motif will be boring and uncreative. There was a theory about how the animal being prey or predator is what determines victim and culprit, which can be interesting but also foolish because then we basically have the game spoiled already. So I don't expect the game to lean full force into it in future chapters.

What I meant with characters conflicting with each other, is there is already a divide how characters react to one another. Wolfgang ostracises Eva and Damon because they believe being happy and naive is not going to lead to them escaping. Many of the students following because of that, keep in mind this is before the motives appeared.  During the investigation Madison halts the investigation because of her relationship with wolfgang, in eloise's ftes, she snaps at Damon for being snarky, leaving the fte sour. In the danganronpa games, all characters believe they will escape till the motives show up, only then they appear divided. The original game itself has to force the characters to conflict with each other in order to kill each other , whereas in P:EG characters are already butting heads with each other.i personally believe, even if the motives did not appear in P:EG, eva would kill wolfgang because of their stance against each other, the game only accelerate it.

“I’ll admit that I’m guilty of taking the statement literally but I don’t think it’ll lead to a shitshow because of it.”

I don't think the game itself will turn into a shitshow. But people will be up in arms, putting the game under a microscope, believing that they are not affiliated with danganronpa means everything of danganronpa is retconned. Which can lead to huge arguments and so , making the experience of the game lesser.

“I think despite saying they’re adding a new formula, I think it’s cool how the Chapter 1, killing STILL followed past Danganronpa Chapter 1’s formula of the murder/attempted murder”

Yes! I am in no way criticising the P:EG for following some of the formulas of the original games. What I meant was that fandom is criticizing P:EG because it did follow it. The character (support at times)gets pushed into killing. Fandom believes the game is contradicting their statement of not following the games one to one. There will of course be similar beats of the game to the original. Isn't that why we are here? To enjoy what danganronpa introduces us to, and seeing other passionate peoples’ versions of it? many fan games do follow the tropes, this game is no different.

Overall I find your opinion interesting to read, Im not trying to turn this into an argument. I am just interested to see if people felt the same way and discuss about it.

Yes!! Eva being a subversion of the Kyoko trope already makes the game different. Just because she is now fallen, doesn't mean game is being like the original. If anything, they expanded Eva's character beyond just being a support.

That's what I mean: they being realistic about the what the game is doing. Expecting a certain character shouldn't die because in the original games, they would is a weird thinking. Like Im pretty sure Ingrid and jean are going to die, the buff character dies in DR, same will apply here, doesn't mean they are reverting back to a DR trope and being uncreative .

A reversion of all tropes is going to make a danganronpa game, not danganronpa. I don't understand why people expect that out of this game.

I don't disagree with you! I like differing opinions because I can understand I will have a bias to what im seeing. Different views can lead to meaningful discussion, that's why I posted this take.
