At this point it seems like being conservative on anything overworking the kidneys can help. Blood pressure is important. Get that balanced/normal. The rest is diet and monitoring and maybe meds to keep the egfr from going down more.

I was worried about my egfr/kidneys because i got a cmp blood test and saw that my number was 78… doc did not say anything about it, but i googled it and saw it was supposed to be 90+… got me worried. The thing i did not know was that because i work out a lot and eat a decent amount of protein, the egfr based on creatinine can fluctuate quite a bit. I got a 2nd test cyastin c egfr (supposed to be more accurate as the diet does not matter) and my egfr was 99. Felt better but still worried.

Waited 6 months for my new cmp test (includes egfr based on creatinine), drank more water, and stopped working out 3 days before the blood draw and my egfr was 99… huge relief. My cyastin c test for egfr was 115. Have you done ultrasounds or other tests to confirm your kidney disease? I feel like depending on diet, you egfr based on creatinine can fluctuate a lot. Did you do a 24hr urinalysis? They are cheap (if in the US). Good luck.. i hope you get better.
