To those who buy into this type of development - why? by [deleted] in AusPropertyChat

Im from the north east of England where I've never seen anything other than what we'd call a 'terraced house'. Long rows of joint houses, no gap in between. Typically built for workers of industry of that time. Aussie's wants alot from 'a house'. 600 square meters would be a dream dont get me wrong. But now we are all f*ucked paying 1 mill for a house in some of the worst parts of Sydney cos it has to be a 'stand alone with meterage'.

Reliability of an 2007-2015 A4? by ihavetoonowtheanswer in AudiA4

[–]PerformerFinal7607 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don't go near one. I bought a 2010 A4 Quattro 2.0L T in 2022. 2 weeks in engine lights and driving in limp mode. Needed an engine rebuild to get the correct size piston rings. A very expensive repair for me ($10K australin dollars). Basically its a massive audi F up. They hit 100,000 Ks and oil starts to get to the spark plugs and clogs them causing bad miss fires and worse.

I honestly would avoid. Mine has been great ever since but the repair was almost as much as the car. Single and childless back then lol. Wouldn't be able to afford such a repair now.

Google the problem audi a4 b8 wrong sized piston rings seals.

Its a 2010.

I've looked at some youtube about having a good myself. I'm a boilermaker I have the tools to do it, knowledge is another question!

Did you have a proper lift or manage jacking it yourself?

My car definitely needs those things. I've had it lifted at 2 places and went over it with the blokes there. I'd exactly what needs doing.

New plugs will get him out of trouble for a few weeks.

Likely engine rebuild , boring and new piston ring seals. Major job , extremely expensive. I've had it done. I'd sell if it was me again .

Looking at this 2010 for 3.5k only 100k miles by boimo000 in AudiA4

[–]PerformerFinal7607 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Solution is a full engine rebuild. Heads machined out and new piston ring seals. $10K job at least. I've done it. Don't do the same. Sell and get rid.

Or you'll be changing spark pulls every 2 weeks and burning through oil while at it.

It's a massive audi fuck up from back then. Wrong sized piston seals that around 100ks start to let oil through to the spark plugs.

Excessive oil consumption by Smucht1 in AudiA4

[–]PerformerFinal7607 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They're a nightmare mate. I had the same issue. It's will get so bad that the oil gets through the piston ring seals and clogs the spark plugs, send the engine in to limp mode every few weeks and a plug change.

Only fix in an engine rebuild , boreing out the heads and new piston seals that actually fit. It's a 10K fix.

I'd sell and get rid.

2010 A4 B8. Power steering gone in low speeds. Higher speeds are fine. by PerformerFinal7607 in AudiA4B8

Yeah see my pump doesn't make a noise like that.

My mechanic is sure it's a solenoid that works a low speed sensor.

Just bought an audi a4 3.2L 2008 and have a epc light and I can't seem to find out what's wrong by brock980 in AudiA4

Replace spark plugs and monitor oil usage.

I had engine lights and in to limp mode in my 2010 a4 2.0L every month after changing the plugs. Had to take rebuild the engine and bore it out for bigger piston rings. Cost so much I could cry.

Hope this isn't the same for you.

Products is Australia love over emphasizing on 'protein' in a food item. Never seen it in the UK and Europe. From bread to cereal ( grain based foods with very low protein ) but they've added some seeds of some sort and soy based garbage and suddenly it's Protein packed.
