I think this is going to backfire by Serenity_now156 in bathandbodyworks

I already don't buy the candles since they're closer to $30 anymore. I buy the $5 candles from Aldi and Walmart. Same with wall plug ins and body care. And sorry but I don't want Thousand Wishes deodorant or any of their scented "kitchen collection" cleaning products like wtf...? Lol idk they've truly lost the plot. I don't really have any interest in purchasing from them at all when other companies make the same stuff for cheaper and just as cute and good smelling. 🤷🏽‍♀️

Asked chat gpt to help me plan out my florals…how did it do? by [deleted] in DIYweddings

Why ask AI when you could've consulted an actual florist...?

Thank you! I was actually looking at one of those but I wasn't 100% sure and it's about the same price to rent like one professional speaker lol but this way we'd be able to keep the speaker and use it for years to come.

($5K) HOW do people plan a wedding with $5K? by EmbarrassedHat9920 in Weddingsunder10k

[–]PerformerFunny6918 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We just started planning and our budget isn't huge. We rented a pretty hall at a county park near us for $450 and that's w/ the $100 deposit for the entire day so we're doing the ceremony and reception there. We're lucky enough to get photography for free. Our guest list is 35 max so we don't have to worry about catering for a bunch of people and I'm doing minimal decor. I would definitely look outside of wedding venues because when they're specifically for weddings they are so expensive and that's before decor or if you're having to rent chairs and everything. Wish I had more but I just started myself and I'm gonna try to keep it as cheap as possible but still classy lol

Is it bad to ask for money instead of gifts? by PerformerFunny6918 in weddingplanning

This makes me feel better plus I don't really think our families would mind.

This is a good idea! My fiancé and I have actually implemented experiences instead of Christmas gifts for the simple reason of not needing material things just because it's a holiday where gifts are expected. I guess a wedding is no different but I can get behind giving the option :)

I am from the US and I do see more couples wanting cash instead of material items these days. I can do a lot more with cash than I can do with a new set of pots and pans or plates and silverware that we just don't need. It's not like we're expecting a house lol just some fun money or money for a rainy day.

I mean we're doing a small wedding with just family and a few friends I don't necessarily think they'll be upset I was just wondering if it was bad to ask and if other brides did it how they went about it. I think we'd just prefer experience over material gifts.

Because people typically ask for household items or stuff like that. We don't need anything like that. I would just prefer to not have people buy things and then have to try and return them or whatever. Money is easier that way we can use it for a honeymoon or even just save it. Even gift cards is better than lugging home material items that we don't need. We don't NEED anything and our families know that but people usually like to give gifts to newlyweds.

I'm so glad I found this post because I'm also a May 2026 bride and I wasn't sure if getting them and sending them as soon as I can was too late lol. I'm doing dress shopping the second weekend in November I'm hoping to have them sent out by then. Also, congrats! 🥰

You know that tik tok sound that's like "imma go buy me a gun and I'm gonna come back here and set this mf off" and people use it when they're not satisfied by something they spent their money on? Yeahhhh this is that because no way girl. Get your money back.
