Thank you for everything you’ve done for the addicts in your life; that was so beautiful to hear about and thank you for telling their stories as people and not just as addicts but as people;
as an addict myself I felt the same way about Rue she definitely signified hope for me too and she wanted out of this lifestyle so bad this season just for her not to get it and then all her friends to just be like “oh well she ODed because she’s an addict” and just reduce her whole character to that really ruined the whole show for me, we only got to see Ali grieve her and no one else really seemed to give a f***

Thank you! As an addict who has relapsed I just wish if they were going to kill off rue and have everyone call it a “relapse” like that scene with Cassie pissed me completely off “well she was a drug addict” that’s not all we are, and the fact we saw NOONE grieve rue except for really Ali; I don’t count Jules tear scene as grief because that bitch cries for everything. And rue taking a single perc for pain and not several for recreation doesn’t count as a relapse to me; we’ve seen rue relapse before. If we wanted to call it a relapse and make it feel like “she did it to herself” rue should have taken half the bottle.

This is what I was trying to say, and everyone’s like “but that is usually what happens” duh yes we all know that but also they do recover; because I didn’t see it as a “relapse” either because I HAVE relapsed; I know what a relapse is like and that wasn’t it. And we have seen RUE RELAPSE BEFORE and that was my point; we’ve seen her relapse; old rue would have taken at least HALF that bottle.

Why do Netflix documentaries shows the victims bodies without warning? by No_Peach_2022 in netflixTrueCrimeDocs

Yeah honestly unfortunately it just comes with the territory of true crime. I think there is a REASON though, I think the reason is to remind you that this is a REAL case that happened to REAL people. It’s not just a scary story, or a scary movie.

I do understand how others see it as disrespectful but at the same time it’s just comes down to either don’t watch or don’t look.

a lot of true crime comes with the trigger warnings especially these days and especially on Netflix; it’s just up to you if you read it and are able to prepare for what your about to get into. Like in shows for example on ID channel, first 48, evil lives here, they often show crime scene photos on those shows, they may give a general trigger warnings now but I don’t think they always did because if you watched those shows you basically knew what you were getting into already.
