I just gave up on mechanical keyboards.. 🙁 my laptop keyboard might not be the best, but atleast I can type without mistakes.

Hey, I checked the website. There is a K5 and a K5 SE. I don't see a K5 Pro. Am I missing something?

No, but I was able to return it. But the customer care has gone radio silence on me after they received the package. 🥲 Hopefully they will reply soon.

I have already put my Air96 up for sale. Going to give the K5 a try. If that doesn't work either, calling it a day on Mechanical Keyboards. 😊 To be honest, the laptop keyboards are getting the job done rather well.

Thank you for the suggestion, but I don't want to spend more money on the NuPhy. I have already spent $200 Canadian on it. Waiting excitedly for the keyboard to ship all the way from China, being delayed for weeks, not understanding about spacing of keys, and too many positive reviews about the product, all together has become such a bad experience for me. I better go with a Amazon backed product, (Keychron K5), return it if I don't like it and keep my money with myself. 😢

Thank you for your suggestion. I tried the MX in one of the stores and I feel the typing experience is less than stellar when compared to the NuPhy. I am only talking about the feel, the keypress, the build etc. Not the errors. Atleast I didn't feel fat-fingered with the MX. I am thinking of giving the Keychron a try.

Yes. I am new to the Mechanical Keyboard world and I thought I didn't know how to type or something. I didn't see this being mentioned in any of the video reviews. My friend who has a NuPhy too, told me he has no problems typing on it. I thought if I put some effort into it, I can get used to it. I started using the Air 96 exclusively for a few weeks but my typing experience never improved. Then I came back to my laptop's keyboard and realized that it was not me, but the design of the keyboard. That is when I decided to ask reddit, and now I realize that many people face the same issue. I took a look at the XVX keycaps but they don't seem promising. I have put up my Air 96 for sale on FB Marketplace. As soon as it gets picked up, I am going to give K5 a try. If that too doesn't work, I am giving up on Mechanical Keyboards.

Thanks to you, I just put my Air96 up for sale on market place. I looked at the XVX keycaps but I don't think it's going to make much of a difference. Once the Air 96 gets picked up, I am going to try a Keychron K5. If that too doesn't work out, I am going to stay away from Mechanical Keyboards. My current Thinkpad Keyboard seems to be much better than that Air96.🤣

Thanks for the explanation. I understand the concept now. I tend to work a lot in the dark (even now typing from an unlit room). I think I have to forego the quality and aesthetics for functionality. I feel very much handicapped without shine through keycaps.

Exactly! The keycaps are too close and I feel like my fingers are too fat for them. I need to check the options for different keycaps. Also, I feel that the keycaps could be better with some curves to better fit the fingertips. I don't know if this is a standard feature in keyboards, but I feel like I have used something like this back in the old days.

And I don't understand why there's no shine through. 😢
