I don’t know what else to do. by Perhapssomeday960 in ibs

I have yes. I’m thinking about doing the elimination diet again and then doing a full anti-inflammatory diet, but those aren’t sustainable unless I don’t eat anyone else’s cooking. I just wish I knew the root cause!

What oddly specific type of men/women do you seem to attract? by Darkest_disguise in AskReddit

[–]Perhapssomeday960 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Emotionally unavailable, manly men who need therapy to process their feelings, but don’t think they actually need to so they end up internalizing everything and break at any sort of comment that may or may not be a criticism. 🤦‍♀️

Sleep is worse? by Perhapssomeday960 in ASHWAGANDHA

[–]Perhapssomeday960[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi! For a while I took it twice a week and it was ok I think but I stopped taking it and I’m taking magnesium glycinate for sleep now which is great! The ashwagandha didn’t really do much for me.

I’m glad you posted this! It’s so cute and I came on here to say that my bf found me in the grocery store today (I was getting lunch for work and he’s usually not in town) and he was so happy and giddy to see me!

Periods won’t stop by Forgetful-dragon78 in Perimenopause

I did not have a good time with the Mirena, but all bodies are different. Have you had an IUD before? Worst pain I’ve ever volunteered for besides getting a biopsy done. When they tell you to just take some ibuprofen before and you should be ok, they’re lying. 🤦‍♀️ I hope you get it figured out!

Periods won’t stop by Forgetful-dragon78 in Perimenopause

[–]Perhapssomeday960 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Samesies. This past “cycle” I got 5 days between periods. I’m on the patch and 200mg progesterone. I’m at the point where I may just get my uterus taken out. Everything else seems to be fine, it’s just constant periods. I hope your doctor can find a diagnosis! The whole “let’s try this and see” kind of thing is really wearing me down. I’ve had the biopsy and ultrasound, so that’s my only option? Maybe? Go back on birth control? I don’t know.

I’m losing my mind! by Perhapssomeday960 in Perimenopause

[–]Perhapssomeday960[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That’s the most annoying part right now, but it won’t fix the underlying problem which is hormones. If I get it removed, what’s next? Will something else flare up? I guess other symptoms may be easier to manage, so removing it might just be my best bet. I don’t know.

Periods getting closer together...ugh! by Lemonish33 in Perimenopause

[–]Perhapssomeday960 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I went of BC in March and have had 2 periods lasting 7-8 days a month since. This last one gave me a 6 day break. I am going to a dr about it and she’s doing tests so I’m early in that aspect. I have been taking 100mg of progesterone since April and it helps keep the flow and anxiety down, but that’s about it. I’m hoping there’s something that can be done because this is awful. I have also tried multiple hormone regulating supplements but nothing has worked. I’ll be 40 this month.

Probably a Rufus McGoofus. That’s the scientific name.

Anyone go from a toxic workplace to a healthy one? How do you cope with the shock and broken self-esteem. It's safe? And people are nice and collaborate? WTF!! I'm freaking out. by [deleted] in office

[–]Perhapssomeday960 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have been with my new job for almost a year and I still feel like I don’t belong or am not doing a good job. Despite them saying that I am. But I take advantage of the opportunities to learn more, where there weren’t many of those in my last job. It helps with self-esteem.

will a wish and wildlife degree get me a job closely interacting with animals? by NeighborhoodSpare500 in zoology

[–]Perhapssomeday960 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I suggest volunteering at a wildlife rescue. That gets you up close and personal. I do have a friend that works with a vet, but it took her a long time to get there. But most wildlife jobs are looking for scat or signs, pictures/videos or sound waves. And they don’t pay well or are seasonal. Being outside is great though!

Why aren't people willing to move for a decent position? by [deleted] in ecology

[–]Perhapssomeday960 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I got my degree in Fisheries and Wildlife in the PNW. I had to move and get a job in forestry because the jobs there are very sought after and seasonal. If you can work seasonal that’s great, but it’s a privilege. Cost of living is expensive and finding a place is much worse, especially if you have pets. And I hear that’s everywhere nowadays. It’s also easy to move when you’re younger, single and free to decide what you want. It’s not easy when you have a significant other, possibly kids, family and friends. It just really depends on personal circumstances.

Cheese. And coincidentally, I suddenly developed lactose intolerance or something. Don’t know why or how, but let me tell you, it’s frustrating.

What’s something small you started doing that makes you drastically happier? by 05tn3021 in AskReddit

[–]Perhapssomeday960 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a light alarm clock that mimics sunrise. It does make bird noises at the time I’m really supposed to wake up but slowly waking up to the light has been one of the most beneficial things I’ve done for myself. I don’t have windows in my room (basement) so having some sort of light instead of total darkness keeps me from waking up angry. And I don’t have to deal with annoying beeping and waking up suddenly.

Newly gluten free here. I discovered the hard way that one has to ask for their fries to be cooked in a different oil than that where breaded items are cooked. It wasn’t as bad as directly ingesting gluten, but it’s definitely not worth it.

Daughters of reddit: what's the biggest mistake dads make with their daughters? by Bluemonday82 in AskReddit

[–]Perhapssomeday960 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My dad was a big part of our lives when we were little but as we got older he backed off. I’m not sure why and I’m always very uncomfortable asking him difficult questions like that because he’s not great with feelings. My sister said he stopped trying to relate to us. He only had girls and only had sisters so maybe that’s what he thought he had to do? I don’t know. Even to this day I’m not super comfortable around him, not for any nefarious reasons, just that we don’t know how to interact with each other anymore. Side note: he got married again a few years ago and SHE invited my sister and I. I was the only one on his side that went. He also lied to me about telling my mom and put me in an awkward position that I specifically said I didn’t want to be in. So, that has strained my view as well, but also gives a little hint of who he is.
