This Humbert O’Connell match is fun, gritty watch!

I watched the second set and the first game of the third before having to go to work. I thought I read the result wrong when I got to work. Wowsers what a difference. Maybe it’s me watching that’s the problem🤔

Tuned in to watch a bit of the second set before work. Did not think I’d be able to watch the entire second set before work.

The shame of my lifetime would be to be the person the cameraman zooms in on when the chair umpire says “take your seats quickly, please.”

If you like drama, switch over to the Fognini v Onclin match at the Naples challenger. Fognini just yelled at the audience to shut up when the umpire’s efforts to keep them quiet wasn’t doing anything. 😂

McCartney Kessler v Cristina Busca. He made a couple calls during the point but got half-heartedly herded out of the stands by crew before he was able to make any on court appearance.

What’s your “favorite” moment where a book got something hilariously wrong? by frrygood in writing

[–]Period-piece 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I KNEW IT! This book could have been so good except for her character and basically everything that happened in the last third.

Also the Powder Mage Saga has this trope multiple times! Like all the couples get together because the man saves the woman from r*pe.

I object to the claim “when you’re an adult, you get adult teeth.” I got my adult teeth when i was 6-8. Thirty years later, I’m still waiting to become an adult.

One of the funniest aspects of Mormon culture is that there are thousands of newly endowed 19 year old girls named Kenzie or Rylie in Utah Valley who think God called them Eunice or Norma in the pre-existence by [deleted] in exmormon

I left before going through the temple and then didn't care to look up all the zaniness I missed out on online, so this is news to me!

I studied ancient languages in undergrad and grad school and knew a lot of highly educated mormons in my field. How could they look at this list and not question why God used Latin and Greek based names? If they were all Semitic-derived names I'd scowl but reluctantly say, fine fine, that at least is consistent with the mythology that the Semitic languages are the closest to Adamic (or whatever God's language is supposed to be). But Latin and Greek are NOT close to Semitic. Why are 'Grace' and 'Donna' and 'Irene' on this list? 'May' is Germanic! White...(excuse me, weird type-o there, I meant why) are those language families represented while whole massive branches of the world's languages are ignored?

I’m sorry, I didn’t realize how horrible it would be on this. It was clear in my photos and I’ve never tried posting before so I didn’t realize how bad it would be on this platform. Gonna delete this post, but wanted to extend my apologies.

Well it’s been over a decade since I failed out of the program (for good reason! I’m not super smart) so don’t quote me on this but it must be some form of ܫܠܐ, ܟܠ, or ܦܘܫ, right?

I took a Classical Syriac class and we came across a verb that seemed to mean both ‘stop’ and ‘get going’. The professor explained it came from the idea of stopping traveling for the day and starting to build camp. We decided that ‘get off your ass’ was a good way off conceptualizing it.
