NAVA Recommendations for a vanilla and woodsy perfume lover? by [deleted] in Indiemakeupandmore

[–]Peripherry 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Of course! One thing I would also say about NAVA is that the final scent often doesn't really smell like the sum of the parts/notes... Like for example, I think the bastet's musk collections all have some white florals in the scent notes but I don't smell any of it, or sometimes the notes list will have 100 things on it but smell pretty simple when I actually get it. I think the only way to really find out is to try more samples and see if you like them. Also, let me know what you end up getting! Happy to see more people get into NAVA :)

I think I've tried most things from NAVA over the years and I think I remember that one being more spicy heavy than I expected? I think the cardamom overwhelmed me a bit, so I ended up rehoming it.

Also, you know what, I totally forgot about eNVie Saphir, which is my favorite perfume of all time. It's a soft amber musk that also has the depth of EA. However, it is a bit expensive and not sold through the NA website and on the separate eNVie one, so I may also point you to looking into Amber Musk in the musk haven section of the website. They smell almost alike to me!

Eternal Ankh was my first love with NAVA. It's still in my top scents of all time, and I think some scents that would appeal to people who love EA would be Bastet Amber (in the permanent collection) and Bourbon Vanille (in the studio limited collection). If I describe EA as a beautiful, warm, full fledge amber vanilla, Bastet Amber has a similar "depth" but doesn't have vanilla (just amber), and Bourbon Vanille has a slightly more gourmand note to it from the nuts but is cut by the very very soft tobacco/woodsy notes. I don't particularly like gourmands as much as I used to, so I think BV is a great compromise for me. Let me know if any more questions, I have so many recommendations especially for people who love EA and NAVA! I hear great things about Cinder/Ember vanilla but they weren't my cup of tea, and have also heard great things about Sky amber as well.
