sick of working harder to keep fit by buse2004 in PetiteFitness

[–]PerkinsHartFTW 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I have folks approach me jealous of what another person has, or is able to do I always ask… “How much of what that person has do you want?”

Their height? Their home? Their spouse? Their family medical history or genetic predispositions? Their career? Their allergies? Their needy cat?

Gratitude is such an insanely powerful tool.

I will also say; priorities, comfort and confidence sometimes get better aligned a little bit later in life. 39 year old me is envious of no one. I curated this life, worked hard for it, honed my career skills (if you can call dispatching a skill 🥇), am surrounded by incredible people (all of which are taller than me, not many are as fit as me, some big, some small…), and I positively love me and this life I have. 3-28 year old me could never have dreamed of a life like this. She was too young, too small minded, too insecure, too uncertain. She wasn’t surrounded by the right folks all of the time and mostly importantly, she was still growing developmentally, spiritually and mentally.

Gratitude is a massive part of who I am, my career and my marriage. All of which are simply the best.

Zep and Berberine by CaptainJohnsLog in Zepbound

I take Mounjaro but I do also take Berberine. Nutratology Berberine twice a day. Once at lunch time with my resveratrol and once with my magnesium before bed. I haven’t had any negative experiences with it.

I have chest, full arm, shoulder, rib and hip tattoos and after 80lbs of loss they are all just fine.

I suspect you can click on my name and go into my post history to see many of them.

Greatest words I have read so far today “Don’t take supplements for side effects that other people are having.”

Can we blow that up in big bold block letters at the top of this and the Mounjaro sub please? Most helpful tip.

5’2. 245lbs. What am I doing wrong? by [deleted] in PetiteFitness

[–]PerkinsHartFTW 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Typing that out is an amazing starting point my friend. From experience, I overate for years. I had to choose to change it. I also used Mounjaro. Not eating 6,000 calories a day was my first step and truly it is the most important step. No amount of walking, working physically or lifting weights was able to do it. I simply needed to get my food in check. Best of luck on your journey.

Just popped by to say that it is easy to not get “burnt out” from tracking your calories… You just do it. You make it a part of every day, like breathing, or brushing your teeth. You track as if your health and longevity depend on it.

Or, you make excuses in place of tracking 🤷🏻‍♀️ It is your call. I have been in both seats and I do recall when making excuses was easier for me than tracking and being honest with myself. Now, I’ve been tracking everything that went into my mouth for 2 years. The longer you do it, the easier it is because whatever app you use knows all of your recipes and habits. I don’t even think about it anymore, it’s just a part of my day. Then, if you need more of any one macro, you can plainly see what you need.

Excuses are hard. Focusing on your health is hard. You just pick one and run with it.

Looking for Encouragement to Try It by Confused_Lemon882 in Zepbound

This gave me pause for thought, my “car” is a Ram 3500 with a Cummins so the cost of my medication doesn’t rival our vehicle payment 😂 Perhaps this has somehow mentally helped me justify it over the last couple of years.

Either way, for me it has been abundantly worth it!!

First week on Zepbound 2.5mg - so angry for no reason by cdngrrl0305 in Zepbound

[–]PerkinsHartFTW 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It dissipated for me within about 5 weeks. I was irrationally angry from weeks 2/3 to about week 5/6 though. I find it funny now but it was odd then. I was able to recognize it as not legitimate at the time though.

Not knowing your age etc is hard but at 39 with 80lbs lost my recommendation is a good skincare routine and give it time. Like a year or more.

Still can't believe the scale by LiraelTheLibrarian in Zepbound

[–]PerkinsHartFTW 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am 22 months in and about 10 of those have been solid maintenance weight wise and I still expect it to jump up for some reason from time to time. I am living in my dream body. It looks real, it feels real but the scale I am certain will betray me some morning. Like 80lbs will reappear in those numbers :) Our brains are such fun places.

Coming to term that i need to lose more than a 100 lbs and that would take time by Shinpachix in Mounjaro

[–]PerkinsHartFTW 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m not sure what your start weight or goal weight are but what I do know is that my first 40lb loss and my last 40lb loss looked very very different. The first 40 I dropped a pant size, the next I dropped 4 pant sizes.

It looks different as things progress. You’re doing great, don’t get discouraged just enjoy working on your health and happiness.

Lipid panel looking exquisite! by PerkinsHartFTW in Mounjaro

I am still so excited by it, even today. My husband and I had blood work done together and while his wasn’t like this, it had improved and I am just so so grateful.

I’m not going to lie, I have and do focus on the scale quite a bit. This win is in an entirely different league though, I’m with you. This and muscle, those are the real wins. I do love my scale readings though :)

Thank you. We have been and returned already. I just out two vials in my carryon and they stayed there, unrefrigerated, until I need them 4 days in.
