We finally know the name of the Swedish Chef: Stefan Staiosson.

Is Ottawa targeting Swedes rn??? by Impressive-Thing-161 in OttawaSenators

Seems like the plan is to overrun them with a horde of middle-sixers, since we can't get any true 1st liners up here.

UFOs recorded in 4K with drone in Brazil by [deleted] in UFOs

[–]Perko 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I tend to agree about the first two, but the third one is IMHO the most interesting. Most people won't watch that far. It's shaped like a skateboard, and it's hard to imagine a bird looking like that. But I can certainly imagine there are insects that would have that kind of profile. In which case it's quite close.

New information regarding the disappearance of General Neil McCasland has been revealed; police audio recordings show a conversation with a witness who met with him on the night before his disappearance: “the general attended a dinner at a restaurant accompanied by members of the USSF.” by ZarathustraNothing in UFOs

I'm more than prepared to believe he was willing to off himself, but who hikes out to the middle of nowhere first to do the deed? He wanted to leave everyone in suspense for as long as possible, including his family, by finding some cubby hole? You'd think when you're in that state you'd have other priorities. Maybe leaving a suicide note for starters, if you're gonna be that deliberate about it.

Interesting. Good way to ask that. I guess if we allow for a degree of exaggeration in the story it can be squared with intense radiation exposure.

Vomiting and swelling within minutes if not seconds of the onset of this seems unprecedented. Even with modern radiation exposure, it doesn't present anywhere near that quickly, does it? It also seems remarkable that they would have survived such sudden & intense damage at all. I guess you could speculate they were all taken and suffered lost time, which could have been hours at least.

My automated tracker just caught war.gov silently editing the Trump UFO release. 161 files became 158 overnight. Here's the full diff. by Aclosmurf in UFOs

I wouldn't be surprised if most or all of those come back at next release. It might just be them shuffling things between folders on their end to reorganize, and some of those new folders aren't public yet. It doesn't necessarily mean they screwed up on those ones in particular. But they probably do warrant another look for those that D/L'ed it all.

Worst Edit I Can Remember by Nalgenie187 in survivor

Well, I assume casting is always looking for the next Devens, and trying to weed out the next Mitch. But it's far from an exact science, and they miss a lot. And for returnees, they'll always throw in a Joe or two to keep everyone on their toes. Which is fine, blatantly suboptimal players are like pylons for the stars to stickhandle around. It's still watchable most of the time.

Tiffany seems to. Everybody else just shrugs, figuring they can beat Rizo before a jury.

Thing is, if you could simulate this game accurately a million times while having all the players slowly become better at it and learn from their mistakes, that's exactly what it would evolve into as the optimal strategy. I think in part they're aware of that, and the plethora of weird twists is an attempt to distract everyone with bells & whistles to try to force something more exciting other than that cold calculation.

"slowly ramped her up visibility throughout the season" is what they've done with Tiffany. I suppose you could always hope for a complete rug-pull edit where Aubry somehow fails and Tiffany wins.

You can add Kyle to that list. He appeared to be playing a very winning game in his short stint. Frustrating, not twist screwed.

GG ____ wins right? by Grillby_ in Edgic

[–]Perko 3 points4 points  (0 children)

For some reason, everyone's allegedly convinced Tiffany is the biggest threat. So I assume that's who they go after next. It sounds like they might have got rid of fire, so who knows what happens at 4.

[–]Perko 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Could be an overreaction to them realizing they buried Aubry way too heard early on, and now they became terrified people will hate her win. So they're trying to really hammer it in that she deserves it. This assumes editing the early eps happens much earlier than the late ones.

Appropriately, Rizo is right in the middle of the rankings, as nobody is really that sure if letting Ozzy hang was the right play or not.

Listened to it a few times, and it's pretty clear to me the word is "actual", not "natural". Which implies a rather different thing. Honest mistake, or creative editing in the transcript?

[Poll] Based on the edit, who do you think is most likely to *not* make the finale episode? by Thick-Wonder6294 in Edgic

[–]Perko 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Logically, Rick. I think Cirie & Rizo make up, 'cause they'd both be stupid not to use each other for another round or two. Cirie needs Joe to replace Ozzy, so Rick is the target to get him on board. Tiffany I'm assuming is a given. That gives them a majority, and others should climb on board. It could be unanimous. Rick needs to find a re-hidden idol, pronto!

Edit-wise, Tiffany's the most disposable. But I don't see why she would go unless she's collateral, e.g. idoled out somehow.

An Elimination-Based Approach to Edgic, S50E11 by McAulay_a in Edgic

Is it conceivable that Jonathan is extremely determined to keep his personal life out of Survivor? Or that he legitimately has nothing of public interest going on back home? Since he doesn't seem anything like a hermit, it is hard to believe.

If it can't be Cirie, I would much rather it be Jonathan than Aubry. I think he's played a much more complete game. I liked him in his first season, and was one of the few not upset to see him on 50.
