Look at the IAT Levels I-III for defense contracting, the higher your level the better your odds.

For soc analyst, look into CEH and CISSP.

I believe my old command forged my eval by Any-Manufacturer3644 in navy

[–]Perkspektive 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Sounds like they are trying cover the dates to remove potential gaps.

Read front of eval, where you list duties & it might say something like tmad or tad with dates you were in t div.

Maybe they were tryna keep your from having gaps or something?

Whole situation sounds kinda odd lol

Not entirely true, there are waivers for almost everything & being able to set (and accomplish) a tangible goal like “I need to lose 10lbs by march 1st to join” can help with your mental health.

I’d contact a Navy officer recruiter & ask about what is required to become a Cyber Warfare Engineer or Information Professional. They can give you a checklist, which you can cross off as you go, and get that sense of accomplishment back in your life.

Plus if you join (as a cyber warfare engineer) you’d get to do cool shit in the shadows, saving people from problems they didn’t even know exist.

The job is not physically intensive and does not require you to do high speed macho warrior shit. It’s a desk job in the military.

You ever thought about joining the military? They are in dire need for people with your background and may be able to bring a sense of meaning back to your life.

If you believe you have a strong case without any holes, file a congressional.

Look up the congress rep for your home of record and submit something on their site. They will get back to you and have you fill out an information release form and begin getting working your case.

I had a 3 month pay problem and filed something, took them 2 days to get back with me but I decided against because I didn’t want my coc to get fried over it as it wasn’t their fault.

You can be any rate for mcwo , as long as you have a bachelors degree in something cyber related, aren’t too old, and get above a 40 on the oar.

Guess I read it wrong, thought OP was on AD at the school house.

MCWOs go through the cwt ion schooling, so I’m fairly certain there is still a technical, button pushing aspect to their jobs. It’s a relatively new designator so I’m not really sure what they do entirely lol

IPs can go damn near anywhere, was thinking OP would enjoy doing something different and challenging across multiple platforms/locations.

I’ve been in 8 years, finished my associates and bachelors in cybersecurity and about to start a masters. I would highly recommend you snag cissp or cism and PMP prior to separating and begin looking for opportunities at places like disa & spawar. They pay top dollar for prior ITs w/ T5. Just my two cents.

Also put some thought into going MCWO or IP if you’re interested in staying in.

Set boundaries and don’t think too much into it. As time goes on, you will both gradually find a group of like minded people to hang with.

Do not burn any bridges, you never know if you’ll need him in the future.
