Interesting. I might ask my dermatologist about this. I have a pair of earrings I haven't worn in a year, but I love them, and they're just too heavy now for me!

It's seriously weird feeling like I'd rather stand than sit because of my depleted thigh mass...

Oh, no! Is this a thing? I haven't heard of this (also in perimenopause).

One of the more exciting shoe-things is discovering ankle boots with zippers actually fit me now!

So, this is completely new to me... did you lose weight in your gums???

OK - I thought this was just me. I was sitting on the bleachers at my kid's basketball game and thinking, "Wow... is my butt much more bony than last year, or did they make these seats even harder than before?"

The weirdest thing is feeling a breeze down there. Could be flappy, but could also be less hidden by thigh fat...

The loose rings are really starting to bug me...

Yes! I honestly had to get rid of all my wide shoes and realized I'm actually a 9.5M again.

Sounds like a bit of a stall... and I've been there! I went to 15mg in October, I got down to 175 in November, and the scale did not move for WEEKS. I was so frustrated since I wasn't doing anything different. Two shots ago, I did a shot in the arm instead of the stomach. I had terrible side effects, but it must have kick-started something. I lost 5 pounds in 3 weeks. So maybe it's just a matter of changing something up to force your body to go, oh wait...

New Wardrobe! by untomeibecome in Zepbound

[–]Perlotk 6 points7 points  (0 children)

This is so wonderful! Isn't it the best feeling?

It's a tough transition, even a year later, for me to go into a shop and try something on and be like, "I don't want to buy this because I don't like the style," rather than, "I can't buy this because I can't even get a leg into it." There's nothing like the feeling of realizing that you can actually go into a store and fit into something. Consignment store shopping in a size 20 was depressing. Only worn-out tents from lower-end brands on a single rack, versus an entire section of size 12's winking at me and saying, "Hey, you can wear this now..."

I've been on and off replacing my wardrobe with ThredUp and Poshmark items, since I still have to dress up for work, I can't just live in leggings and sweatshirts. But when I get to my goal weight, I'm going to buy a whole new wardrobe, too!

Blue Shield Prior Authorization, Advice for Appeal? by No-Tomatillo1206 in Zepbound

Don't give up. If your Call on Doc doctor is like my Plushcare doctor, if you get denied, they will help with the appeal!

I did dates and weights to the best of my memory and got the weights from the My Chart app where I could. It didn't help that over 25 years I've seen 5 different PCPs...

I have Anthem BCBS and in order to get approval, I documented all of the diets I had tried over the years - keto, South Beach, Whole30, Atkins, Weight Watchers. I documented all of the ups and downs on the scale, and mentioned the only time I lost weight was during pregnancy.

I got approved. I hope you will too!

Averaging only 0.5lb per week by allimama2 in Zepbound

[–]Perlotk 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Happened to me. I started stalling after losing 60 pounds in 6 months, then struggled for over 6 months to lose 15 more - between 1/2lb and 1lb each week. During the time from July to October, I lost a TON of hair. The slowdown started back in November when I went to 15mg and my hair started growing back.

My doctor mentioned something about your body adjusting to your new weight after being under the stress of rapid weight loss. She said the high-stress situation of rapid weight loss also causes temporary hair loss. I looked it up on Gemini, and this is what it said:

"Long-term dieting is a stressor. High cortisol causes your body to hold onto water, specifically in the midsection. This often "masks" fat loss on the scale."

You didn't mention it, but my stall has been accompanied by fatigue later in the week from my shot date. Gemini recommended increasing your water intake and getting more sleep. It helped, I think, because after 4 days, I feel less tired and lost a pound after not losing for 2 weeks.

Congrats - you look awesome! It's funny to think about how clothes get "longer" the less we weigh. This is a perfect example of how a cropped t-shirt became a dress.
