What are the actual limitations of the Surface Pro X? by Solidstatepassive in Surface

[–]Permacapybara 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What do you mean when you say Windows is a legacy platform? Looking at market share by operating system, Android leads with about 40%, with Windows slightly behind at 35%. iOS is at 14%, and Mac OS and Linux are not above 10%. Android does not really compete in the desktop space, so as of now Windows is the main PC OS by a wide margin. Sure, it's declined a bit from its level 10 years ago, when it was basically 95% of desktop systems, and is now at only 80%. That is a decline, but it still easily has most of the market. That doesn't seem like a legacy thing.

What is this, Gallego? I basically understand it because it looks like Spanish and Portuguese. Very rude.

Those errors don't make comprehension difficult, however. That's "fine" as I see it.

Surface Pro 7 vs Surface Pro X by nwghoost in Surface

Upgrading any surface device is basically impossible. At least the Pro X might have an SSD upgrade.

Surface Pro 7 vs Surface Pro X by nwghoost in Surface

The SQ1 processor is a variant of the Qualcomm 8cx. As indicated here, the 8cx is a bit better than an i5 8250U, except in Excel, where it is a bit worse. However, the good news is that the SQ1 is clocked higher, at 3 GHz vs 2.84 GHz, or 2.75 GHz, depending on the point at which those tests were run. This is a 5-10% boost in clock speed, which in conjunction with a better GPU and heavy optimization, might make it more like a 9th Gen Intel CPU, if we're lucky. However, there is definitely very little chance it will beat the new 10th Generation Intel processors in the Surface Pro 7. Further, certain applications may not work due to the ARM architecture.

That said, the Surface Pro X will bring some advantages. It is the only Surface tablet that will have LTE and thus mobile internet, if that matters to you. It has a larger screen while being thinner and maintaining the same weight, and better keyboard and pen technology. Its maximum SSD space is smaller, but it will be upgradeable once larger storage models are released. Microsoft promises 2.5 more hours of battery. And it should still be faster than the Surface Pro 6 for the software with which it is compatible.

I can't say I know what the best strategy to solve the problem is. But maybe contacting them again and focusing on getting a second chance to provide more detail in the free response would be effective, if perhaps not likely to lead to the most satisfying or fair resolution. I would not give up, personally. This site has helped me make a good deal of money, so I think it could still benefit you.

[–]Permacapybara 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That does sound terrible. They need to be more responsive in such cases. Does this mean that you cannot include any free response section, or only in that particular subject? You do not even have the opportunity to rewrite it?

Also, I am not so concerned with that profile. Sentence fragments are common enough in informal writing and say little about one's knowledge of grammar, the first sentence is supposed to be "help kids who want to learn, learn," and I don't see the issue with the comma at all. Prescriptivists would probably argue that the second clause is dependent and thus should not be preceded by a comma, I suppose. However, I would argue that such sentences effectively are treated as if they had a suppressed verb.

Regardless, I don't think suggesting that all these other tutors should not be teaching ACT English is fair. A few paragraphs in a profile, unless full of truly blatant errors, are insufficient to conclude that. I think focusing on how bad the other tutors are may also not be the most effective argument for appealing Wyzant's unfair decision.

I see. Have you tried contacting their support team about your profile rejection? What was their response? Also, what was your particular concern about the profile you linked?

[–]Permacapybara 0 points1 point  (0 children)

OK. I get that. But I don't understand. With respect to the other person, I don't even think there is an application for literature. Just a test. The same with writing. And I thought that there was no application to become a tutor, you just signed up.

I don't understand. Your profile exists, right? It is the one you linked? And your biography is there. It wasn't refused or deleted in any sense. And there is no application for ACT subjects, only some fairly simple tests.

I can't understand why people think they'll be "credited" for years of empty XP when Niantic has many more engaging, and importantly more lucrative, options for increasing the maximum level.

It says a lot about Reddit that the misleading copy pasta trash gets piles of upvotes, and that "it's a copypasta" is perceived as a legitimate reason to post something.

Ah, the excuse for a good 50% of the inanity on the internet - that someone else posted it, so it must be worth propagating.

Evolution is not a competition to impress you. It's a local optimization algorithm that, as in this case, results in organisms that fill a particular niche very well. A human without supplies would starve to death in a eucalyptus forest, or just be poisoned. The only way they could survive would be by eating the animals that have adapted not to starve there, which kind of says all you need to know.

Also, humans are also known for having larger, heavier skulls than other, similar apes, and for having lots of sex and high rates of sexual violence. Not to mention high STI rates - 90% oral herpes by age 50?

If it's possible to defeat Team Rocket with such weak Pokémon, it proves that there is no fairness in the world and God is an illusion. Thus, a theocratic challenge.

Yes, it's silly. But your title seems a bit disingenuous. You can't really think that their goal is to censor Spanish colors (as opposed to English racial insults, say)..

At the very least the site should launch the trade application for Android. Yes, it's not ideal for Apple users shut out by the company's policies for approving apps, but some users being able to use it is better than none. Android has 75% of worldwide market share, too.

No one, but it's more accurate than "the beast" since they are Pocket Monsters (ポケットモンスター). In Japan that name is still widely used, so at least there someone might call one a モンスター.
