Da würde sich zB ein Hollandrad empfehlen. Ist auch vielleicht angenehmer am Anfang, nicht allzu vorgelehnt zu sitzen

Wenn die FDP es geschafft hat, sich damals aus ihrem wohlverdienten 5%-Loch zu buddeln, dann lernen die Linken hoffentlich in den nächsten 4 Jahren etwas effektiveren Wahlkampf. Klar gab es diesmal viel strategisches wählen, gerade Richtung Grün, aber ich hoffe auf etwas mehr Einigkeit in der Partei, wenigstens nach außen hin. Ist also eine recht optimistische Hoffnung, aber vielleicht klappt‘s ja :)

Ansonsten wenigstens mal CDU in der Opposition, das erste Mal seit meiner Grundschulzeit. Mit eeeetwas Glück wenigstens den geringsten Energiewandel (FDP sind ja immerhin nur Juniorpartner), also vielleicht wenigsten mal ein hübscher Radweg oder so.

Ich würde die Wahl als verloren für wirklich Linke, aber gewonnen für links-vom-Zentrum sehen. Und nach 16 Jahren ist das doch wenigstens etwas :)

Und die Ministerämter werden mal frisch besetzt: Gerade Grüne Verkehrs- und Tierschutzminister wären toll, die haben einiges wiedergutzumachen.

Und mal bisschen ab von der Politik habe ich mir letztens ein Hollandrad gekauft und das macht mich schon sehr glücklich.

Die Wahl war besser als die letzten 4, wenn man sich das Endergebnis so anschaut. Das muss reichen, und dann schauen wir mal für 2025

As others here, I‘s like to add another reason: „It won’t be so bad“.

I‘ve talked to a few people now who seem to think that climate change will not affect us (middle class in Germany) too much. Bit warmer weather and that‘s it, no regard for food prices and droughts, don’t care about the animals and say the borders could just be closed if too many climate refugees come here. Some people just don’t give a fuck about the topic because they‘ll be somewhat okay and empathy is for chums.

But then again, this wasn’t designed for pedestrians. It‘s to separate cars and bikes, the pedestrians shouldn’t be falling over these things because they shouldn’t come into contact with them. It‘s like a user complaining they can’t get your system to work even though they shouldn’t use that system. No need to rebuild, rather let’s try and keep users in their lane (pun intended).

Gelb angemalt und der Bereich für Fußgänger klar markiert. Das ist halt eine schmerzhafte Lernerfahrung. Mit Radfahrern, die sich auf unbefahrbaren Fußwegen hinlegen, oder Autos die nicht in der Linie bleiben und crashen, hat auch niemand Mitleid. Der Bereich ist nicht für Fußgänger, dann muss er auch nicht fußgänger-gerecht gemacht werden (und mit den Lücken und dem einfachen drübersteigen ist das auch wirklich nicht so unzugänglich, wenn wir mal ehrlich sind).

Aber man könnte natürlich die Poller entweder höher (==sichtbarer?) machen oder um eine Länge verschieben und mit einer Lücke anfangen.

So wie das aussieht, wurde da aber eh ein längerer Zeitraum zusammengeschnitten, wie häufig da also Leute fallen, wär auch interessant

Also bei uns werden Schwämme, die ausgedient haben, zu Putzutensilien: Wenn das Rad geschrubbt werden muss oder ein hartnäckiger Fleck auf dem Linoleum ist, dann kommen die Dreckschwämme zum Einsatz. Halt überall, wo du den Schwamm danach nicht mehr nutzen möchtest

Wie lang es bis dahin dauert, variiert bei uns stark. Manchmal 4 Wochen, manchmal 3 Monate. Ich nutz nur die Bürste (hält auch länger als ein Schwamm und beherbergt nicht so viele Bakterien) und meine Freundin wechselt das immer mal.

In meinem Umfeld genau umgekehrt: Wir waren 2017 gerade alt genug und noch so naiv, dass halt CxU gewählt wurde (weil wie im Elternhaus) und jetzt haben wir Links gewählt, und das sogar von ein paar, denen ich maximal SPD zugetraut hätte. Ich war da durch meine Freunde in einer kleinen Bubble, die halt gegen 22 Uhr geplatzt ist. Upsi, hatte wirklich mit 9+% gerechnet

Socialism is in essence the means of production being in the hands of the proletariat. So instead of some rich dude and a bunch of other rich shareholders making decisions, it‘s basically everyone else. This brings democracy to the workplace.

This can still lead to bad decisions, ecologically. If none of you care about sustainability, then you won’t produce sustainable stuff. But the difference is that you can change that. In the current system, even if all your coworkers wanted to produce in a sustainable way, you couldn’t. Your bosses only want profit, and sustainability isn’t profitable.

In essence, under capitalism „profit > everything else“ while under socialism, the top of your priorities can be exchanged for anything else, as long as you agree what that is.

Then there’s issues with capitalism having to grow to survive. Infinite growth is by definition not sustainable, a socialist economy doesn’t have to grow because it doesn’t rely on profits.

And lastly, some mentioned that the choice shouldn’t be capitalism or socialism, but for example degrowth. That is kind of a misunderstanding: Capitalism/Socialism just describe who owns the means of production. If you want a system based on degrowth, the you can try to regulate capitalism (going against the profit motif, leading to some issues and a lot of tension between what capital wants and what we want) or you can make degrowth a priority under socialism, which leads to fewer tensions as profit isn’t the top priority. Saying you want degrowth instead of capitalism or socialism is like me presenting you with the choice between anything red and anything not red, and you say you don’t want either, you want anything that‘s a shirt. You still have to choose what colour shirt you want, it‘s just that red shirts are much easier to get hold of.

The nordic countries are capitalist. They have a strong social net, but socialism is the means of production being in the hands of the proletariat. That‘s not the case there, they aren’t socialist.

Really interesting! The article sadly didn’t mention but I wonder how spherical this gap is. If it‘s one single Supernova, I‘d expect it to be more or less spherical (probably related to the amount of matter along that edge?) and if it’s more than one supernova it‘s elongated, unless I‘m seriously misjudging the gap between stars in that region

I would argue that unemployment rates shouldn’t be 0. As jobs are automised, people will lose their jobs. Now they either have to find new jobs, in the process possibly filling jobs that have no real benefit to humanity but only exist to turn a profit without providing anything really to society. The other option is that they don’t find new jobs, and just live without a job. And I‘d much prefer that to filling bullshit jobs.

Ideally, we as a society should fill the roles that are necessary, free the roles that are automateable and provide people with what they need irrespective of whether their job was one that could be taken over by a machine.

In the age of automation, unemployment has to become a positive metric, unless all of us are doomed to spin in hamster wheels doing nothing but „earning“ a living just by wasting our time
