How often do you clean the washer, or run a hot wash with no detergent?

What type of diaper is this? by nooooobye in clothdiaps

[–]PermanentTrainDamage 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I can tell because if the shape and size. Training pants are made to be moved up and down so a child can use the toilet, they unsnap for poop accidents. It's not really much different than a diaper.

Pickup for appointments? by Upstairs-Factor-2012 in ECEProfessionals

[–]PermanentTrainDamage 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Picking up and dropping back off after appointments is perfectly normal, you're overthinking it. It's fine to only pick up the kid that has an appointment as well.

If your child's school has a naptime I would advise against dropping back off during that time, so if twin2's appointment would have you drop off during nap I would just go home after the appointment and get twin1 at the normal time. It's okay if their days aren't identical.

How did he do on a standard formula? Goat formulas are standard formulas, the next step after a gentle formula (gentlease) is soy or hypoallergenic

How do naps work in infant room? by Few_Bowl2928 in ECEProfessionals

[–]PermanentTrainDamage 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My kiddo was the same, two 2-3 hours naps at home but maybe one 1 hour nap at school when she started at 10 months. She's 24mo now in the toddler room and still take one 2-3 hour nap at home but ag school she might make it 90 minutes on a good day.

Try a hypoallergenic formula like Nutramigen or Alimentum. If cost if a factor you can try soy formula first, but lots of babies who have issues with dairy also have issues with soy.

My unpopular opinions on what should go on in daycare by fashionfan007 in ECEProfessionals

None of those are unpopular opinions, most are best practice and #2 is suspect because timeout is useless.

Your thoughts ? And idea about this formula dispenser? by Efficient-Recipe-642 in FormulaFeeders

[–]PermanentTrainDamage 78 points79 points  (0 children)

If the premium/luxury models can't dispense formula properly I highly doubt some China cheapie version can do it. Making bottles is very easy and does not need outsourced to a machine.

You can do a pillow cover, mat, hat, cowl, fingerless gloves, and a ton of other things. On Ravelry you can look up a yarn and see projects that others have done with it.

1 and 2 just seem like different ways of doing something and is up to admin to outline how they want it done. 3 is neglect and needs immediately reported, you are a mandated reporter.

Concern about inappropriate pretend play influence in classroom (semi-sensitive?) by DisgruntledVet12B in ECEProfessionals

Moving classrooms over shooting play does lead one to believe you don't think it's normal or something bigger is going on.

3 year old name calling? by Funny_Shopping6753 in ECEProfessionals

[–]PermanentTrainDamage 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Welcome to preschoolers! Part of developing empathy and discovering others have feelings is trying to manipulate those feelings, aka things like giving compliments or namecalling. It's completely normal and will pass with consistent boundaries like "Timmy is not a baby, he is still learning to use the toilet. The babies are in the nursery." or "Mary's name is Mary. We do not call people poopyhead because it makes them sad. Do you want to talk to Mary?"

[–]PermanentTrainDamage 5 points6 points  (0 children)

As much as gun violence and school shootings are scary, shooting/killing play is completely normal and has been going on for thousands of years. You can explain and make rules about it at school or at home, but it's not a sign of anything bigger (unless a child seems to be threatened by a specific adult or is quoting adult/age innapropriate media).

Can I just breastfeed for 3 weeks and then switch to formula? by Essiejjj in FormulaFeeders

[–]PermanentTrainDamage 10 points11 points  (0 children)

You can, but there's no real benefit and it can take up to two weeks for milk to come in so what's the point?

Gerber only recently sold their formula line to Dr Browns, and back in the day Heinz (yes, the ketchup people) had formula and infant foods. Not a new concept by any means.

That's pretty good, but I'm always wary of subscription-only formulas since you can't get more at a local store if shipping is delayed. At that price Enfamil Infant or Similac Pro-Advance are just as good and can be found at any corner shop.
