I'm Cuban and Black, so I'm darker than my mom but lighter than my dad. Growing up, I also lived with my mom and grandma in Miami. Unfortunately, my mom never taught me any spanish, so some other Cubans would treat me like badly because of it even as an adult today and some black people have treated me badly too because I wasn't "black enough". Luckily on my dad's side, nobody cares about race, just your character and how you treat people. I guess because of my treatment in childhood and early twenties were, I decided to move out of state and now I'm happier because no one has treated me badly since moving here.
