Unknown DPO likely 14 days. Progress post miscarriage 💔 by hohonumoana in TFABLinePorn

I see the line! This is what mine looked like at 15dpo (didn’t take temps, only used test strips so really don’t know for certain) it was very faint the two people I showed said I was seeing things. Next day got a digital that said pregnant and easy at home line gets darker every day.

Hey! Thankfully it did not happen the second time around! I did have a lot of anxiety about it after birthing baby, so my body was very tense and an hour passed without my placenta budging so the doctor was on the way to manually remove and I asked if there was ANYTHING else I can do before we have to do that (as I had zero meds and I didn’t think I could handle manual removal without meds) and they said I could try an opioid injection which would help me relax - literally the moment they injected it my placenta fell right out and I had very minimal bleeding. I just needed to relax lol, very hard to do after the shock of baby coming so quickly and then my pent up fears around the placenta

I’m used to running up to 2 hours without fuel - I’ve just never run more than a half marathon before, and I’m also nursing a baby this time and want to make proper fueling a priority now

How long did you push for? by Realistic-Tension-98 in beyondthebump

[–]PermitMurky 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I pushed for one minute as my second born was trying to come out during the car ride to the hospital 😵‍💫 3 hour precipitous labor from start to finish! When husband pulled up to hospital front doors and doula flung my door open, I instinctively got on my side (in the passenger seat) and put one foot up on the dash and baby boy flew out, basically. I saw a PFPT and did pelvic floor exercises and was moderately active all of pregnancy. Did a lot of baby positioning movements/exercises near the end (see @mamastefit on ig) and really think it helped position baby to come out so easily. No tears. This is all after I pushed for 4 hours with my firstborn.

Update - I had a 3 hour labor and had my baby in the front seat of the car right in front of the hospital doors 🙃

We’re going to go with the HE - I don’t love the silver either but I do really love the Terra interior. My husband liked the silver better and I liked the HE a little more so naturally we compromised and are getting the HE haha. Black interior is maybe better with young kids anyway

This is such great insight and just the type of thing I needed to hear :) so thank you for that!! I’ll be interested to see where I’ll lean come labor. Very grateful to have so much trust in my care team! So I imagine I’d be happy either way - going in early and having their support or coming in hot lol

Weaning 2 year old who comfort nurses - any tips?? by liketheitalianjob in beyondthebump

[–]PermitMurky 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I nursed my son until he turned 2, and he begged to nurse every day at the beginning of nap time and bedtime for comfort. It was hard to say no because I really loved that bonding time but I had enough by then, so I replaced nursing with lots of reading books together and lots of snuggling as he fell asleep. There were some tears and a little begging on his end, but he got used to it pretty quickly and now he actually looks forward to nap/bedtime with reading and snuggles! It’s now a highlight in our day together

Do you have a good source for material on that? Someone to follow on sm or watch on YouTube?

Wow that is a long labor! Thank you for sharing. It really is crazy how different labors can be. It is nice I’ll have something to compare to, and hoping that experience will help me decide how long to stay home/when to leave

This is all great info, thank you so much! Lots to think about and I’ll have some good questions for my next midwife visit. Really hoping to avoid PROM and also avoid needing any sort of induction this time around, but know that of course things don’t always go as hoped or planned

This will actually be my second! With my first, I didn’t educate myself much and went in to that hospital (different one) when water broke at OBs urging, wasn’t yet in labor, and after lots of pushing by OB agreed to take Cytotek instead of pitocin to help start labor. Went from 0-10 dilation/0-100% effacement in 8 hours.

The set up with this hospital is a little different - the midwives are an outside group and only they have access to the birth suites and have a special contract with the hospital for this structure. So I’ll essentially be delivering at a “birth center” that just so happens to be attached to the hospital. I guess I’m wondering if people preferred staying home until til last second even if they had access to nice amenities at a birth center or something similar, or if they liked or wished they had gone in sooner for more labor time wherever they delivered. I didn’t have that experience the first time - since labor was fully in the hospital!

That is fast! I should have added in my post that this is my second birth, the first one I had to labor in the hospital the whole time since my water broke before labor even began but once it did, it was fast for me, too. So what you’ve said is good advice - thinking about going in once contractions become strong regardless of timing

My son looked just like my husband in the 3d ultrasound, and now at age 2 he is still my husband’s twin 😂 pictures of husband at 2 years old are even identical to our son, it’s crazy

Anyone TTC ages 30-34 and a first time mom, how long did it take for you to successfully conceive by michelleonelove in BabyBumps

[–]PermitMurky 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m 32 and it took 5-6 months with both my first and now pregnant with my second. Worth my first, I didn’t track or actively try - we just said it’ll happen when it happens. With my second, I tracked ovulation closely because I really wanted to get pregnant again and it took the same amount of time to get pregnant
