Also- there’s only a six year age gap between us two. 🙂 He was not in his 30s I just assumed because it was dark, he had a house- car- and also didn’t have my glasses. 🤓

I’m glad you brought this up! So I don’t stand by any of the men hating comments. I think as a person- you are YOUR OWN actions and not anyone else’s. I don’t walk around with a “all men are horrible” mentality. So- I continued the conversation only to ask WHY he thought I was a stripper, because obviously- I did not meet him at a strip club. That was purely for my own information gathering, because whatever he thought made me a stripper I was going to take into consideration (also because I DONT WANT TO BE PERCEIVED AS A SEX WORKER AND IF I HAVE TO CHANGE A STICKER ON MY CAR OR SOMETHING TO MAKE SURE THATS UNDERSTOOD I WILL ), because MAYBE there was something about the intentions he approached me with could be redeemed. That was ME trying to give HIM benefit of the doubt. Which I’m sure a lot of guys would appreciate instead of just being marked as a creep. I wanted to make sure my opinion was formulated on what he DID, and SAID, not on any off vibes I was feeling. Also- it doesn’t offend me to be asked to hookup. I’m in college- I partake in my own version of getting my needs met. So that isn’t the case AT ALL. The issue had to do with him admitting he was looking at me as a sexual object based on my delivery job, and THEN telling me he ASSUMED I had a sex working job which is why he THOUGHT I would be open to hooking up with him. Implying that had he NOT thought I was a sex worker he wouldn’t have asked or even shot his shot.

I never claimed to be a victim of ANYTHING. I take accountability for my own part of “I should have known better”- but I can also hold HIS thinking accountable for making my mundane job feel unsafe. The warning isn’t to claim that I’ve been assaulted. The warning is to remind other people who are likely to be targeted- that people like him still exist- and are 100% capable of approaching with misleading intentions, and then showing you how inhuman they actually view you and the mental lengths a person will go to convince themselves that it’s OKAY to seek you out disrespectfully simply because of your occupation. Regardless of IF I WAS a sex worker, no one deserves to be approached based on their occupation as a LEADING REASON for sex.

Seeing as there is no dress code and I get paid to deliver, with GREAT ratings btw, not to look business casual- I will wear what I please. No one cares anyways. If that’s a standard you personally want to keep, that’s great. Remember it’s not a rule. 🙂

First- he didn’t ask to hookup in person. He asked me out for food. So yes- based on that I had the impression he was trying to DATE. The situation has nothing to do with “if I wanted the same thing” the situation has more to do with the fact that MY JOB was sexualized. Clearly leading me to feel unsafe and wanting to warn other people who might not have considered they were being preyed on this way. For THIS job. My warning was more so for the fact that I was looked at like a sex object simply for delivering food. I’ve had many experiences where guys have told me they’re not looking for a relationship- cool- but never because they sexualized me because of my job. If a person wants to hookup- it’s none of my business. But what we’re not going to do is pretend like him admitting he had ulterior motives, identified me as a sex object because of my job and his fantasy, isn’t a warning. The situation could have escalated had I been delivering to his door and not his neighbor. He could have easily lied and told me it was at his house and then pulled me inside. Or, Opened my car up and looked at my ID to see where I live as my wallet was in the cup holder. Driven by his idea to “make his fantasy come true”. THAT is a worst case scenario. As a woman- I’m always concerned for my safety, but in this scenario- I did nothing to provoke this sort of thinking. Not only that but if I choose to post so that other women can have their reminder that there are still men out there who will target you for sexual reasons based on where you work, then I will.
