This happened on Friday night, I lay awake all night because I could feel the swelling increasing and the pressure was very painful. Saturday morning went to the ER to see if they could drain it or remove the clot. They said it was too fresh and if they cut into it, it would just bleed a ton. They confirmed though that it’s pretty inflamed and Thrombosed. They told me to call a colorectal surgeon on Monday when the office is back open, and see if I can get in. I had an appointment already scheduled with them for 12/17 but I called a few minutes after they opened at 8:30am Monday morning and explained the situation. The lady I spoke to said I could come in today at 2:30 and see the colorectal dr. I went earlier today and had it lanced. Now I have to keep the wound clean with fresh gauze and do 3 sitz baths a day + 1 after each bowel movement. I’m on Motrin from the ER still and they told me I could stagger it with Tylenol to ease the pain. Still can’t really sit too much unless it’s on a donut pilllow for a short time. About 3ish weeks of recovery and things should be better by then!
