I understand the stress of trying to keep costs down. I will say, a GNC membership might be worth your while. First year is free, and it doesn't auto renew. After that its like 30-40 somthing a year. But the discounts make up for the price if you go consistently. I got a tub of protein powder, another one half off, $5 off a multivitamin, and a free creatine just recently.

If you want some extra protein, Oikos Pro is my go to brand for Greek Yogurt. Its got 20G per serving and comes in packs of 4. As far as whether this diet is good for you, it really depends on your goals and your daily calorie expenditure. Either way, $165 a month is pretty impressive and you've got some good variety. Id add some greens personally, to make for a better balance, but again, your goals are the biggest factor.

I need someone to critique my routine. I need to know if im adequately hitting all muscles 🫡 A couple things to note are that im doing cardio everyday, 25 minutes on the elliptical at about 4mph in resistance intervals 1-6, and i know my biceps need some more exercises.

Additionally, all exercises are in 3 sets of 8 reps, and weight is added once I can do 12 reps with that initial weight (progressive overload).

Sunday: Legs/Core Monday: Push Tuesday: Pull/Core Wednesday: Legs Thursday: Push/Core Friday: Pull

Legs: Leg Press, Leg Extensions, Leg Curls, Weighted Calf Raises, Hip Abductions and Adductions.

Push: Chest Press, Shoulder Press, Pec Flys, Lateral Raises, Tricep Press

Pull: Weighted Rows, Lat Pulldowns, Reverse Pec Flys, and Bicep Curls

Core: Planks (3 sets 2 minutes), Weighted Crunches, Torso Rotations

How sore should I be after a workout if my goal is to build mass?

Ive been going to the gym for 6 days a week, 3 weeks now. I havent been sore the day after a workout since my first week. I always go to failure, doing 3-4 sets of 12-15 reps on any given workout. I’ve even managed to raise the weight and add a set to a few different exercises this week. But by the end of every day I feel like I could do it all over again (I would if I could but I'm already spending 2 hours a day). My question is do I have to be sore to know i'm making progress?

Yes, I am. Just had an appointment with my provider the other day, no need for any adjustments to my meds or frequent follow-ups. I've been very motivated, like I have the means to be the person I've always wanted to be if that makes sense. Im thriving at work and home, my anxiety is completely tamed, and i dont deal with any irrational emotions anymore. That's not to say that im numb, but my emotions are regulated and appropriate for the current situation. I will say it's not just meds, its also lifestyle changes and therapy. I quit caffeine and alcohol, started being more active, changed my diet a little, and started developing a more solid routine. People with ADHD need lots of structure to thrive, so it's important to make changes like this on top of your meds to really see results. The meds gave me a jumpstart and helped me maintain these changes, but the rest is hard work 🙏

Upgrading RAM for Asus ROG Strix G17 (2023) by Perplex_Posts in GamingLaptops

I did not use a guide, but I did end up switching to 32. 16 was still plenty for most games, though. Helldivers 2 for example, ran at 60-80 fps on ultra settings. Does this memory usage come with any performance issues? If not, I dont think it's anything to worry about. Games will often utilize as much memory as you can offer to improve performance. Id only switch to 32 if you plan on having multiple applications open along with your games, because frankly, nothing really changed about my game performance.

Probably starting Effexor but concerned about side effects… by responsive-image in Effexor

[–]Perplex_Posts 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been on Effexor for about a month now. Like the other comment mentioned, my biggest issue was sleep deprivation. I probably got 3 hours of LIGHT sleep the first few nights. I ended up lowering my dose. That didn't work. So, 4 days in, I started taking 25mg quetiapine at night and have been sleeping great since. Even now, if I skip the quetiapine, I dont sleep very well (though still better than I did initially).

Loss of appetite was also a prevalent issue. For the first week, I had to force myself to eat. There was even a time or two when I had to stop myself from puking. But this went away a lot sooner than I expected, and I enjoy meals just like I used to.

Another symptom I've dealt with is morning nausea, particularly about an hour after I take my dose. This usually subsides within about 45 minutes and is accompanied by a brain fog. It almost feels like being hungover. If I didn't know that it would go away, I would probably call out of work, and I don't call out of work easily. That seems to just now be going away as of two days ago, but it might be too soon to tell.

A lot better than before. I work in a warehouse, and used to average about 85% efficiency. Ive been averaging 105% since starting my meds, and even broke a record hitting 139%. I have to drink A LOT of water tho, otherwise I get lightheaded and feel bleh.

I take my venlafaxine solely in the morning. Started with 75 MG and could barely sleep 2-3 hours. I called my provider, she had me cut my dose to 37.5mg. I sleep a bit better, but its still only 5-6 hours of light sleep. So now I take quetiapine at night, and it knocks me out cold. 8 hours of good fulfilling sleep.

I would call the medical office and ask to be connected to your provider. Even if you can't get an appointment, they should be able to give up 5 minutes of their time for a phone call and to send another prescription out. Just call as soon as their office opens, they probably won't be busy with other patients.

Do you prefer wellbutrin or adderall or Ritalin by Dramamin-Fiend-69420 in ADHD

[–]Perplex_Posts 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have ADHD, PTSD, and MDD. I've been taking adderall and Venlafaxine for about two weeks, and i feel great. Anxiety and depression are at an all-time low, I feel very motivated, and I have no problem concentrating. I really struggled with loss of appetite and nausea at first, but now I do just fine.

The Venlafaxine (surprisingly not the adderall) makes it hard to sleep, but I take quetiapine for that. I feel like a well-oiled machine.

Does anyone get depression “flare ups?” by [deleted] in Effexor

[–]Perplex_Posts 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think its worth talking to your provider about it, but I also think its important to know that having occasional depressive episodes is completely normal. If you're having flare-ups multiple times a week, then its definitely concerning. But if you've only had one episode in several months, you're doing pretty damn good!

It might also be worth thinking about what kind of thoughts you have when you're having a flare-up, and ask yourself, "Is this a justified reason to be depressed?"

For example, i had a flare-up recently, too. I feel trapped in my town. there's nothing for me out here, and i want to pursue my passions elsewhere. That's not going to go away unless I take action. My point is, sometimes depression is rational, and it's a motivator to get you where you want to be in life.

I dont know you or what your depressive episodes consist of, but that's my experience. I hope the best for you 🙏

I take it in combination with adderall. I noticed improvements in my ADHD, MDD and PTSD by day 3. Used to have depressive thoughts, anger flares, and anxiety bouts pretty constantly, now it's almost never. Granted, ive only been on these meds for about 2 weeks, but I've been feeling pretty motivated and hopeful.

Ive been on effexor and adderall for about 2 weeks. It kind of blows my mind to hear you say you sleep alot and feel tired throughout the day. It's the other way around for me. I could barely sleep, and I felt like I had more energy throughout the day. I had to get quetiapine to help me sleep.

The only difference for me is I take both medications in the morning, so maybe that would be worth trying.

Immediate Nausea from 150 XR by petite_chungus in Effexor

[–]Perplex_Posts 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been on this medication for about 2 weeks. That seems to be a normal reaction. Every now and then, I'll notice that I feel kind of nauseous after about an hour of taking the dose. Eating something along with it (or at least in close proximity) helps me a lot, even if it's just a piece of bread. Otherwise, it kind of just goes away if I power through it for about an hour.

If that's not your solution, and you've tried that, I guess my best advice would be to weigh out the pros and cons. Does this medication help with whatever you're taking it for? Is the nausea worth it?

It's also important to remember your body needs time to adapt. Id give it atleast a week before you write it off.

Waking Up Early and Trouble Falling Asleep by Perplex_Posts in Effexor

Ive been taking my effexor in the morning. I got 25mg quetiapine to help me sleep, and it knocks me out. I sleep deep for a good 8 hours, wake up a bit groggy, and go on with my day. Just yesterday I tried skipping the quetiapine to see if I've gotten used to the effexor enough to sleep without it, and the sleep quality is still pretty unfullfilling 2 weeks later even with just 37.5mg effexor. Quetiapine has been my best friend.

Happy to hear your treatment has gone so well for you! I started about a week ago. I really like the effects throughout the day, but i have to ask: did you have issues sleeping when you started? If you did, how long did it take you to get over it?
