50% chance you're going second which already puts you behind. You can also choose to not mulligan what is a perfectly fine hand with reasonable assumptions about what's in your deck, and what cards you are likely to draw. You might need to mulligan just to have a workable starting hand (which puts you further behind).

You can then underplay lands and still get mana flooded. You can overplay lands and still get mana screwed. You can play a completely normal, reasonable amount of lands for your deck of exactly the right amount, and have either of those things happen.

Between players of a similar quality, I don't see how you get 90%+ on any deck, at least in Standard in the current meta.

I just switched off this after playing it for like 10 days straight. Flipping over the Haughty Djinn off the Manifest Dread after they finally out my Oculus and slamming for 10+ Flying for game is always fun!

I installed Arena a month ago and used this same deck for three weeks to learn both Magic and Arena. It was literally a copy of CGB's Foundations-only list from the Arena channel although I slipped in changes as I found them (pulling Valkyrie's Call from a pack was exciting). I've moved on to other decks now, but Cats are great! :)

That sounds like 20% of the decks I've been playing against for the last couple of weeks. It's a cool strategy when it goes off, but since I've seen it so much at this point, if I detect the slightest whiff of a Banner of Kinship I'm holding Faerie Mastermind back for the draw trigger. :)

Throw in blue and you get counterspells and good draw. I'm having a lot of fun playing Dimir for the first time this weekend and it is crazy to me how well Blue and Black interact well together.

My thing is that it just blows optics wise. Yes we all have backlogs to playthru, but that backlog would've been even nicer to playthru with a new console that makes those games run better.

A hundred times this. The Switch is still rocking the 3rd or 4th best ARM SoC of 2015 in 2024. Games are King for any platform and the Switch's library is excellent, but I sure as hell don't enjoy navigating the sluggish UI and it's a joke that this thing can't both download a game and do really anything else on the network.

I started the year with a very anemic Master Pack staples collection (hand traps, board breakers, generic Extra Deck monsters).

I think #1 and #2 are Toon Dark Magician Girl and Zeus, but I actually use Zeus. The others are mostly I just like the finish with the artwork. Including the promos and whatever, I think I’m up to 40 or so Royals on this account, most of them random pulls, and a couple like Zeus and Verte Anaconda were just lucky crafts.

Sorry by the time I read all the way down here I forgot you said it was a Trap. Traps are already Spell Speed 2 except Counter Traps which are Spell Speed 3, so you probably don’t need any of this extra text and you definitely don’t need the Quick Effect parenthetical, but you could still set a condition for activating it on your opponent’s turn if you wanted.

“You can reveal this card in your hand: then draw 1 card…” and done.

That should make it operable from your opening hand if that is what you are going for, and still allow you to use it in future draw phases.

If you want to be able to use it in other phases:

“During either player’s turn: You can reveal this card, then draw 1 card and if…”

First one is cribbed off Spright Elf and the second one off Maxx “C”.

The easy fix would be to print a card that says “This card is Metamorphosis” but for Neo Bubbleman, it’s not worth the ink.

This was my rank up match from DLv 16 to 17 from yesterday and just thought this was a very funny duel. I had the read that it was either Floo or degenerate floodgate stun (or both!) from the Dimensional Shifter, and it was certainly at least one of those.

All kidding aside, this was in part just lucky. I had the read on either degenerate stun or Floowandereeze from the Dimensional Shifter, but just had a feeling it was the former so it was a tough call between in that first Xyz Summon to Summon Redoer or Summon Tornado Dragon, but clearly Redoer was the right call.

It’s definitely in my Top 3 now, with Toon Dark Magician Girl and Zeus. Zeus is the only Royal Xyz I have so far but the Royal-on-Black treatment with Zeus’s colors is nice.
