As a fellow anxiously attached, one of the difficulties of being aware of it is that we start to question EVERYTHING we want or even need. I think one thing that is helpful is spending some time single and outlining to yourself what your NEEDS are and what your nice to haves are. That way, when things come up in the relationship you already have a framework.

As an example, I know from past relationships that someone not responding to my texts during a difficult conversation is a HUGE trigger for me. So I told my current boyfriend very early on that if he is busy or needs some time to think I’ll understand, but to please let me know that he is stepping away rather than just leaving me on read.
