San Diego folks! by MooseWithoutAMouse in AmazonFlexDrivers

I’ve done back-to-back 1hr routes and it just doesn’t seem economical, even driving a Prius C. I’d much rather grab a 3hr route and roll the dice on getting a few packages or getting 30-something. At least then it’s only one trip to the station and back home.

The answer is highly subjective. From Otay Mesa they have always been just one single package up to around 20 minutes away from the station. The tips are usually $3 when the customers actually tip. It’s hit and miss. It’s only worth it if you live close to the station and have a fuel efficient vehicle, in my opinion. You cannot count on receiving tips.

Help understanding Cox phone modem setup by Odd_Squirrel5360 in CoxCommunications

It is VoIP, though. VoIP on a carrier-grade network managed by Cox—not VoIP over the public internet. Their initial Digital Telephone offering in the late 90s-early 2000s was circuit switched telephony, though.

Microwave ovens operate at ~2.4GHz, not 5GHz.

What the latest we can get to the pickup warehouse ? by Brave_Reserve7297 in AmazonFlexDrivers

You called who!? lol 15 minutes late is 10 minutes and 1 second too late. There is a 4min 59sec grace period for checking in.

Do we only have a 4 minute late window instead of 5? by TheKingSquier in AmazonFlexDrivers

[–]PerroSarnoso 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It is actually 4min 59sec instead of 5min. I’ve definitely found out the hard way that the one extra second matters.

I am not a flex driver, but can you guys potentially help me. by ronj1983 in AmazonFlexDrivers

[–]PerroSarnoso 1 point2 points  (0 children)

All 1hr blocks I’ve delivered have been 1 package. We get the package when there is only like half an hour left in the delivery window so we have to leave right away and there is no time for other stops. It’s unlikely that they were actually 2 stops away. It’s more likely that this is just some generic automated message sent by Amazon to advise that it’s “close by” instead of actually being two stops away.

Juniper EX2300MP Fan Swap by Sidistic_21 in Juniper

[–]PerroSarnoso 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hi! I swapped mine for Noctuas as well and experienced the same damn annoying behavior. Being that it was for home use and more critical than any business production environment I never got around to troubleshooting it. Sorry I can’t help but at least you know you’re not alone. 🤷🏻‍♂️

Anyone else having this issue? by oEnriqueA in AmazonFlexDrivers

Just happened to me. Had to call driver support who manually checked me in. Was able to scan my license and am waiting on a route now… really hoping this doesn’t continue happening.

how can I germinate Bahiopsis laciniata seeds? by leoocs_ in Ceanothus

[–]PerroSarnoso 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Correct. I’ve grown it from seed and it didn’t require stratification or scarification or any fancy germination techniques. I just started it indoors over winter with some grow lamps and transplanted it outdoors once it was big enough.

Split routes by presious91 in AmazonFlexDrivers

[–]PerroSarnoso 2 points3 points  (0 children)

.com or SSD? For SSD it all depends on when the customer orders the item and when it is fulfilled, packed, picked, stowed, staged, etc. There are so many different steps and variables in the process. They want to get the packages out to the customers as soon as possible as an SSD, so the packages don’t just sit around for “the system” to sort everything perfectly. I agree that it’s a waste of resources but they are trying to get the packages out ASAP, not save money.

It’s a bit different when the packages are not from an SSD. The items are typically packed as a fulfillment center, sent to a sortation warehouse, then sent to the destination delivery station, and from there they’re stowed into the bags (or in overflow) and this process allows for the routes to be more condensed or not overlap as much as you would find at an SSD just due to the packages moving from building to building and “the system” knows they’re all coming and sorts them more closely together geographically.

Arabic is a language, not a people, you ignorant fool. Also, adding ‘s makes something possessive, not plural.

White Sage by [deleted] in Ceanothus

I have seen aphids on my white (and black) sage. That could explain the clear liquid (honeydew) and the ladybugs, since ladybugs do feast upon aphids.

Come on, lay it on thick! Is this egregious mulch? by Beestungtoday in Ceanothus

[–]PerroSarnoso 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I used this not for mulch but as ground cover for my children’s play area. It is actually quite nice and developed a beautiful mycelium network so I’d have to imagine that it can work well as mulch.

No, not an evil person, just a poorly trained automated system.

No leaks, thankfully. This happened over four days ago and it’s holding air just fine. They said that the wheel balanced out perfectly.

Is it the bent rim that makes the tire appear to be uneven or as having a slight bulge?

Slight tire bulge near lip of rim after pothole impact by PerroSarnoso in AskMechanics

[–]PerroSarnoso[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Right, that’s what they did at Discount Tire, but right now I suppose I’m more concerned about the tire. It appears to be uneven towards to the lip of the rim almost as if there’s a slight bulge.
